Dont ask what is a legit opponent for floyd,, and then get mad when i break it down,,, no floyd wasnt the #1 draw during the time but he was still a multi division undefeated top 5 p4p guy,,, If manny or jmm was going to fight shambra, gatti, sosa, bruscles, i would give them flack for it as well...

    JLC twice
    corley
    zab
    baldomir
    oscar
    hatton
oritz, shane, ghost all had a slim chance
    canelo????

They didnt win because floyd is the TRUTH, but that doesnt mean that floyd has fought a very demanding schedule for a guy of his skill set

Well its relevant because some of the biggest fights floyd could have made vs legit threats was during that time he spent in fake retirements,,,,

Can you explain again why he retired twice??

Aydin actually did a better job with Guerrero than Berto. I don't really understand what you mean.

When Floyd beats Canelo these idiots are just going to say that he shoulda fought Matthyse. And when he beats Matthyse they're gonna say that he should of fought Manny when they never really believed Manny would even win the fight. The fact of the matter is that the reason people are so critical of Floyd is because he and some of his fans deem him the greatest of all time. When you make statements like that, and you're not a likable guy, there is virtually nothing you can do that will make you great in their eyes. Blinded by hate. If LeBron was to go on and win 10 championships in a row, people still would not rank him higher than Michael. Just for the simple fact that they hate the guy and that his fans and media say he's the greatest. I guarantee if Floyd was quiet and humble, you would not hear one complaint about his resume, because there is virtually nothing wrong with the mans resume, but hate is something that you can not avoid. Floyd is the only guy who can go night in night out fighting elite champions and top 10 p4p fighters and be labeled a cherry picker. Floyd is the only guy who gets ducked and then labeled a ducker. Floyd is the only guy who can out box and out class his opponents every fight and his detractors will blast him for not getting a knock out. But Floyd created this scenario by being the best in the world and not being shy about saying it. You point me 1 fighter from 154 on down that Floyd wouldn't beat at anytime between 1996-2013 and i'll show you a liar.

Forrest and Winky are the only threats and I really don't think they could have got it done, but if it's anybody that could do it on that list, it would be those 2, the others you're just dreaming.

Prime Oscar would have lost the same way

Shane wouldn't have lost 11 rounds to 1, but he still would have clearly lost

            Ike gets out boxed.

            Tito gets out boxed.

            P. Will, no chance in hell.

            Marg, no chance in hell.

            Manny, no chance in hell.

Now of course this is just my opinion, but I really believe this kid Floyd is light years ahead of his contemporary's. He's more skilled and more talented than every fighter you just named, I don't think it's any argument there, but this kid truly has ability to beat anyone who steps in the ring with him. If there was a guy I felt that could truly beat Floyd, trust me I would acknowledge it.

            Duran at 135 possibly.
            Sanchez at 126 possibly.
Tommy Hearns at 147 no doubt.
SRL at 147, and I believe Floyd could beat him at 147 as well. If they fought 10 times they'd split 5.

These are the real threats, not no damn Paul Williams or Margarito or Manny Pacquiao, get real.

J-- I also think floyd is a great fighter and the best of his era,,, but he just ahsnt proved it enough in the ring for me to blindly say he beats all those guys.....

An old part-time fighter oscar lost a split dec,,, now if it was oscar 99, no doubt that oscar beats him in a close fight,,, same thing with shane,,, shane catches floyd in 00, the fight is done because shane wouldnt be so damn old with no legs,,,,
Plus a shot cotto, at times put it on floyd,,, so did augustus, and zab,,, no doubt in my mind that tito would walk floyd down, and beat him up like he did pernel...

FLoyd is a great fighter, but i think he benefits from opponent selection and timing his fights,,,,
if floyd fought everyone people wanted to see him fight,, there is no-way he is undefeated,,,,,
Dude didnt want to fight a shane, cotto, margs, pwills,,, those were the fights to make after the oscar win,,, and what did floyd do,,, had a fake retirement, till cotto, shane, margs were all shot,,, and pwill was up in weight,,,

but floyd has no problem fighting the ortiz, ghost, jmm,,,,, and probably add alexander and khan to the list,,,,

i give floyd props for the canelo fight, but once again, floyd needs an advantage,, so we have a catchweight,,,

Floyd is great, but his greatness is greatly overrated,,,

Actually initially Floyd agreed to all Mannys demands, and had a single one of his own and Manny turned it down. I'm not talking about later, I'm talking about the first meeting, you do remember it right?

Regardless of if he would've won or lost, not taking the Manny fight is always going to be a stain on his career in the public eye.
