    fact

    floyd announced retirement after oscar..

    fact

floyd cameback and beat hatton after hatton called him out after the JLC fight

    fact

    floyd retired again

hence why i pluralize it== to answer your first question...

dont get mad at me, because i pluralize "retirements" for floyd when in fact he retired twice,,,

Who cares if it was in the same year,, that is why i call them "fake" "retirements"
    Because they werent real,,,

      1. Did anyone really think jmm had a chance vs floyd,,, really i want to know,, did you think jmm was going to outbox floyd or ko him

      2. jmm is a great fighter but he is a counter puncher that excels vs aggressive come forward fighters like diaz, manny, katsidis,, and jmm doesnt excel vs actual boxers like chris john, mab, casamoyer....

      3. Did you really think floyd would lose to a guy that is older, smaller, slower handspeed, slower footspeed, shorter, weaker, shaky defense, and counterpuncher,,, do you really think that guy is going to outbox and outcounter floyd joy mayweather jr

      4. you have to be a complete idiot to think jmm stood a chance in that fight,, but the funny thing is that people actually brag about the jmm and compare it to manny's fights with jmm, ignoring the fact that jmm and manny are about the same size, and floyd is bigger than both,, and that floyd is a slick boxer, whereas manny is an aggressive puncher, tailor-made for jmm counters, thats why they have great fights together,,

      5. if you cant understand that, then you should just log off and pick up a new sport
What is the criteria of a legit opponent for Floyd? Is it an opponent you believe can win 1 round, 2 rounds, or a damn near impossible 3 rounds against him?

Well I dont see any purpose for Floyd to dwell on a fighter who wont sign the contract

I'd hardly categorize winning 3 rounds against Mayweather as being "damn near impossible." Plenty of guys have walked away from a Mayweather fight with 3 or more rounds in their favor. It's just not happened as of late due to the vast gulf in talent between Floyd and the rest of the 147lbs'ers.

Somebody that actually has a chance to win....

I think canelo has a chance to win,, though i favor floyd by UD

floyd when he fought oscar was legit threat,,,,

floyd when he fought genaro, corrales, JLC,,,

but not no-hopers like jmm, sosa, augustus, ndou, brusceles, gatti, shambra

Does that make sense?? I hope so

Wow, at the time that floyd fought Burton, Sosa, Ndou, Bruselles was he the number 1 attraction in the sport? And u do know that during this time the Mosleys and De La Hoya's ducked him stating he want an attraction in the sport??

So name the fighters on Floyd's resume who had a chance to win? And why didn't they?

If not real then why bother bringing it up? Its irrelevant isn't it?

Cotto won his belt off of Yuri Foreman and didn't fight anybody of any level of skill or danger since then.

                    Guerrero is Guerrero

                    Ortiz is Ortiz

Mosley hadn't fought for 2 years when he fought floyd and was pushing 38

Marquez was a lightweight champion that floyd fought at 147 and Hatton was a super lightweight champion

Any way you look at it, Floyd's resume at 147 for the last decade is about as strong as Amir Khan's chin. I'm tired of people defending Floyd's choice of opponents and his blatant ducking as if there's something to defend.

His actions speak for themselves. He avoids risk.
