I'm sorry, but that's an odd opinion. Floyd has just signed a multifight deal with Showtime so discussing future fights is surely highly relevant on a boxing messageboard.

Idle chatter? I disagree. De La Hoya was the biggest moneyfight available for Floyd just as Floyd is for Golovkin.

Make a thread on that subject if you like.
It's not a question of being ok with it. I find the discussion about a potential floyd ggg fight to be a waste of discussion at this point. You asked for floyd fans to be honest and admi danger. why don't posters like you admit that there is no one at ww that you think can beat floyd. then we can start havinghonest discussions.

Stop being disingenuos. You are not trying to have a discussion about future fights. You are using this to advance the floyd is ducking crap etc etc. additionally, if anyone talks about floyd v another ww or ggg v ward, posters like you immediately go back to floyd is ducking, *****s etc etc.

Yes it was. but again stop being disingenuous. ODH had maxed out in weight, was near the end of his career, and fought floyd because he was the best fighter in the world. GGG is not the best fighter in the world nor is he even a top 15 p4p fighter yet.

GGG is really making a name for himself and has HBO's full backing. He is using floyd's name to help market himself. HBO and their corporate partners (ESPN) are joining in. But as a diehard boxing fan you know the politics and economics of boxing at the current moment make this fight impossible.

So Floyd doesn't want Golovkin because Golovkin is too dangerous. Nice with an honest opinion.

Canelo may or may not be drained, I dunno nor does it matter in this argument. Floyd thought the gamble was worth the hit to his reputation.

Of course Floyd would get less credit for facing GGG at 154 than at 160, but he'd still get a ****load for 154, from me and everyone else. What he wouldn't get any credit for is ducking out of the fight once again. But nice of you to be concerned about his opponents health

Of course it is dangerous for a welterweight champion to fight a middleweight champion. This was my first argument. Not because GGG is better than Floyd, but because of a brute weight difference.

What weight difference? If they weigh in at 154 there is no difference besides hydration, which nobody can control anyways (lol Canelo 172 anyways)

It's a fine discussion this. Next opponent after Canelo. Highly relevant. And I have no problem saying that FLoyd is out of opponents at WW. Having said that I could also expect you to say Floyd should fight Matthysse at a CW next.

Come on man. I'm not saying Floyd is ducking. How can I say that when Floyd hasn't beaten Canelo yet? I'm saying that Floyd's fans look ****** when they say weight is the reason why he shouldn't fight GGG. Let's see what FLoyd's excuse will be. If he claims weight then I claim DUCK!

So you don't think Floyd should fight GGG because GGG is not famous enough. So who should fight then?

Fight night weights are useless pretty much.

Did you know they don't have to strip down? I have seen and heard fighters waring there robes and gloves on the scale(canelo vs trout) and some are in boxers. Some weigh in when they get to the arena before a pre comp snack, some weigh in right before they go out.

People need to stop using the weights as a reference point to which fights could get made.

That is not good enough dude. Weight made no difference in the Gatti and Baldomir fights. Why is it suddenly Paramount for GGG?.

Let's be honest here. Golovkin is infinitely more skilled and talented than those two face first brawlers right?

ggg i the perfect NSB fantsay opponent for floyd. He is a hard punching MW who because he fights in a higher weight class most think he will KHTFO. SInce ggg is on hbo they know the fight wont happen so they can go with floyd is ducking ggg.

If floyd wins posters can say he was drained, floyd didn't fight him at his best weight.

                      Its lik a win-win .
