Unless there's a lost 5-10 lbs between the Ortiz fight and all of his other fights.

Add the fact he was 148 lbs a month prior to the Guererro fight.

Add the fact he's never weighed in more than 151 lbs for a fight.

I think it's fair to assume a correlation.
What was Oscar's reason? And why not be consistent about it, why allow for Ortiz and skip for Marquez, where the fight night weight would have been of MUCH interest?

There's wide 1 fight swings all the time. Peterson went up 8lbs after Ortiz, Bradley went up 10 after Pac, tons more. I'm not even saying Floyd's ever hit 160, I don't think he has. But I'm sure he's hit 155 or thereabouts. Either way, if you gonna be using weight as an excuse to either dodge eligible challengers (eg Sergio at 154) or impose a CW in a title unification (for the "lineal" belt!), you better step on that scale fight night, don't leave us guessing.

What does that say about Golovkin as a future opponent for Floyd?

      Thanks.
There's a GGG master thread. Also, why do people like you insist on discussing a fight that not only won't happen anytime soon, it may not happen at all. Unless discussing fantasy fights is trending lately.

Oscar just liked being in control just like Floyd does. Floyd has pretty much followed all of Oscar's steps into his diva-ish ways which is why it's no coincidence the "not being weighed" fiasco started immediately after that fight.

My guess is he likely weighed himself for the Ortiz fight because that was around the time we had fools claiming he comes to the ring at 160 lbs.

So what I'm saying is that weight is not a proper excuse to avoid a Golovkin fight. It would be much better if Floyd stans like yourself came clean and said that Golovkin presents too much danger for Floyd at this point in his career.
To say something like that would be to display a lack of boxing knowledge. What danger does he possess? It puzzles me when people think irrationally and with emotion over logic, styles and physical strengths and weaknesses aside, Floyd is the more gifted, intelligent, and experienced in the ring, when people constantly bring up every other fighter in desperation and make claims as to how or why they could beat Floyd, they only show their ignorance of the sport. "floyd stans" are generally ignorant and illogical as well, the problem is that most of us who appreciate and acknowledge the gap he has above other current fighters aren't "floyd stans" we are fans of the sport, and we recognize Floyd as the best in the sport. Big difference.

Any fighter stands a punchers chance against any other fighter, but beyond that most emotional fans get lost in the mist.

It's also obvious who is a true fan of the sport and who only wants to see people they despise lose to make themselves feel better, hard to enjoy a sport when all that's on your mind is malice on another fighter you think deserves to lose or is not as good as he actually is.

And Floyd is vastly overrated by people today, he won't even sniff the top ten of all time, but the fact remains that he is the best boxer today by a significant margin, and when people bring up fighters who haven't even earned that payday shot and say things like "oh, he's a threat floyd is ducking him", it's just ridiculous. It's casual fan talk.

Q: Howcome Golovkin is to big when he doesn't rehydrate to more than your previous opponents Baldomir and Gatti (and Canelo)?
Floyd: If Golovkin wants to fight me at 147 like Baldomir did then he can get it.

He was a 0 time SWW champ when he fought Baldo, right. Now he's 2x SWW champ, about the be unified, "lineal". How's that not fair game for anyone that can make 154?
