Could vacate it, like many others do.

People still can't admit there's practically no difference between Alavarez and Golovkin in terms of weight at 154. Inb4 "he's got a bigger structure, wahhh!", you gonna discredit Floyd for fighting people with smaller structures then too? Sheesh.

People have been complaining about alvarez' resume, in some cases the same people who said floyd was ducking him and would never fight canelo. Now its golovkin, whos resume is even thinner than canelos.

Even if GGG had the resume to prove he can compete on floyds level id like to see him fight a top fighter at 154 before floyd to see that he can compete at the weight. Right now i dont see the point in this fight at all, i like golovkin but he should target the top fighters in his own weightclass before even thinking about the p4p king. I think GGG is the best mw but he hasnt proved inside the ring, he has to be ranked #3 atm.

He would have to develope a huge following too. Floyd doesnt carry 154 well and isnt his regular self at the weight. For huge money fights like dlh, cotto and now canelo he will sacrifice some of himself to make it happen. But if its not a super fight he will stay at 147 where he is at his best.

There are many reasons why this fight shouldnt happen and not a single one why it should. Thats probably why people bring it up. Cant say hes ducking cane
lo anymore so they need to make up something else.
Exactly. Its a never ending cycle of hate. Just a few weeks ago all you heard in here was Floyd will never fight Canelo. Canelo, Canelo, Canelo.
Now the fight is made and its "Canelo is a cherry pick. Floyd sees something vulnerable in him". Never ends.

      Now its GGG...

If Floyd signs to fight ggg right after Canelo then GGG will be a cherry pick. Lol

It was an assumption, since 99.9% of title defenses historically happen at the regulation weight. We went through the exercise, there's a handful of exceptions, all sub paper champs at that weight that request to defend/unify at a CW

why vacate a title you plan to defend? he had another title in another weight class to defend.

I don't know who you are reffering to in the 2nd paragraph. I'm not exactly sure what you mean.

Floyd doesn't have to 'see' anything vulnerable, he makes you vulnerable with a catch weight on one of the biggest JMW there is, rofl.

If GGG gets down to 152, Floyd will fight him.

Otherwise GGG can go up to 168 and fight Ward and Froch.

I'm referring to people being 'fine' with Mayweather fighting Alvarez, but when it comes to Golovkin people say he's "too big and too strong, he's a middleweight!", even though he's said he will go down to 154 and we have proof he hydrates less than Canelo. This whole thread is about weight if you didn't realize, there's been many posts about it.

You can define the titles anyway you choose. The fact is that whe you have the biggest earner in the sport and they decide to fight a fellow champion in a unification or not, they use their negotiating power to create an advantage.

I don't like it but its been done before and will be done again.

So why doesn't that big Jr Middle go up to 160 where he belongs? Why is he draining himself to fight a small Welter that supposedly is not a draw?

Can't Canelo vs GGG be made? I'm sure they'd break ppv records

Why catch weight GGG but not Cotto? Well?

Here, I'll tell you why... listen close. It's because Cotto is shot to **** and Mayweather knows.
