Gatti, Baldomir and Golovkin. Fightnight weights

Floyd is bigger today. Back then you'd say that he could make 140. No way he can do that today. Hell he probably outweighed JMM by 10+ lbs back when they fought.
I don't know what kind of evidence you have to back up your claim that the scales support it, but you probably don't have anything valid. I mean how can you say that the scales support it? Do you have access to Floyds nromal walk-around weight development during those years? Of course you haven't, but what we know is that Floyd looks bigger and that he has refused to let him self be weighed for a fightnight weight in the last several years. That leads to a chain of thought that Floyd is not as much smaller than than the 'normal' WW's as else is the standard claim of the Floyd-stans.Comment

I would doubt he would make 140 back then, if he did it would be a struggle.Floyd is bigger today. Back then you'd say that he could make 140. No way he can do that today. Hell he probably outweighed JMM by 10+ lbs back when they fought.

The evidence I have is he came to the ring at 150 lbs against Ortiz less than 2 years ago and was 148 lbs a few months out for the Guererro fight. Sounds reasonably valid to me.
What evidence do you have for Mayweather outweighing Marquez by 10 lbs?
We know Marquez comes to the ring at around 150 lbs, as does Mayweather.
And Mayweather certainly is smaller than today's average WW. Make a list of fighters at 147 who come to the ring at 150 lbs or lower and it's a small list.Comment

I don't see where he looks bigger. Do you think he looks bigger?
How much did he weigh unoffically against Judah? 149 off the top of my head.
He weighed 150 against Ortiz.
I don't see a whole lot of difference in his size then to now. His size has peaked for a while.Comment

As for JMM well we all know his development is ..... let's say odd. When he fought Floyd he was fat at 142. When fighting Pac he was a bodybuilder at 147. When Floyd fought him Floyd looked at least 2 divisions heavier than fat JMM.Comment

Atm its all irrelevant anyways. GGG hasnt done anything to deserve a fight with floyd. Beating a past his prime and undersized ouma, fringe contenders moving up in rosado and ishida and even his best win to date against a top contender in macklin doesnt put you on the same planet as floyd let alone the same ring.
People have been complaining about alvarez' resume, in some cases the same people who said floyd was ducking him and would never fight canelo. Now its golovkin, whos resume is even thinner than canelos.
Even if GGG had the resume to prove he can compete on floyds level id like to see him fight a top fighter at 154 before floyd to see that he can compete at the weight. Right now i dont see the point in this fight at all, i like golovkin but he should target the top fighters in his own weightclass before even thinking about the p4p king. I think GGG is the best mw but he hasnt proved inside the ring, he has to be ranked #3 atm.
He would have to develope a huge following too. Floyd doesnt carry 154 well and isnt his regular self at the weight. For huge money fights like dlh, cotto and now canelo he will sacrifice some of himself to make it happen. But if its not a super fight he will stay at 147 where he is at his best.
There are many reasons why this fight shouldnt happen and not a single one why it should. Thats probably why people bring it up. Cant say hes ducking canelo anymore so they need to make up something else.Comment

I don't know what? You asked me why the scales support it and I am telling you why the scales support it.
And Marquez 143 against Pacquaio not 147.
Floyd didn't look 2 divisions heavier than him at all.Heavier? Yes. He is a bigger man despite not being a big WW. Moronic obsevations like that is why we have people genuinely believing he had 10 lbs on him on fight night despite the fact they both have shown they come to the ring around 150 lbs. There or there about.Comment

Well, the main reason being Golovkin is a MW and a fight between him and Mayweather is an unrealistic scenario.Atm its all irrelevant anyways. GGG hasnt done anything to deserve a fight with floyd. If he wants to make himself a realistic target he should move down to 154 and make noise there before even considering being on the list as a Mayweather opponent.
Chances of that are very slim.Comment
