Besides, you'll find that a lot of people give Ward credit for it, he moved up many p4p lists right after. Some guys are even convinced he knocks out the likes of GGG off of that performance.
By that token one could say golovkin has never fought at 154. So honestly its not clear that he can make it. Just because he's never gone above 170 doesn't mean he can make 154. He's 31 years old. Canelo isn't. Its a totally different thing entirely.

Yeah I dunno if he can make it. Sanchez insists he comes to camp below 170. He's like Hopkins in that way, very disciplined. Hopkins was able to drop down to 156 (!) with no issues, and he's a naturally bigger guy

What were the weigh-in weights of Gatti Baldy , or do you want both ways and you think it don't matter .

Ive been telling you guys weigh-in weight and fight night weight are linked together its dynamic and is not just the face value of either weight on its own , it comes down to frame size and density , thoses guy came it at 170 so you think that's the same as GG comes in so its all good , but they didn't have 160 mass to train with because they had to make 147 its different , you have fluid transfer which is your weight , and that transfer is regulated by muscle mass .

In other words Gatti with a 147 weigh in on fight night at 170 would look puny standing beside GG also at 170 on fight night after a 160 weigh-in .

GGG should be like Floyd and Broner and challenge himself at the higher weights.

Whoever beats Ggg at 154 will get no props anyway becuz haters will just say "ggg was drained at 54".

Team ggg needs to sack up and dare to be great at 168. Froch and Ward await....
1st off...in case you hadn't noticed...Ward isn't fighting anyone these days and got stripped of his title for inactivity. They will likely meet up in a year or 2 when it will be a major money maker but for now neither are really yet pulling in the big money draws. In all fairness to GGG though he only appeared in the US scene 9 months ago and still needs a little time...but is exploding now and it will all come soon enough.

Plenty at MW and SMW no need for this fight
What in the world does Dawson have to do about this?

Say he did fight ggg and floyd won.. Then the haters would be like why doesnt he go to middleweight and fight serg or quillen, why not ward.....

Be happy with the canelo fight, because that will be the last time floyd fights at jr middleweight...
He was plenty of guys his own size to fight like garcia, khan, alexander, manny, bradley, broner, ortiz 2, and most importantly Soto-karass when he beats berto...
im just chillin readin the back and forth and wait, what? Even if he does beat Berto, Maidana beat him. If Maidana ends Broner Maidana should be in the Floyd sweepstakes too. He's certainly more deserving than Berto, Ortiz, Or freakin Soto Karass....

this is a good point. Muscle mass is more important than water weight. "Rehydrating" isn't natural and a person that campaigns at 160 is going to generally be more naturally physically strong than a person who campaigns at lower weights. Canelo included... even though Canelo might rehydrate up to 170+ his muscle mass is not as suited for that weight as GGG's is..... So its really two different ballparks.

Muscle will adapt to the environmental stress it is put under. GGG muscle mass would obviously decrease if he were to fight at a lower weight, just as Mayweathers would increase if he fought at a higher weight. It is not a valid way of accessing whom should fight who, because if we go by your theory Pacquaio should never fight Mayweather because Pacquaio has fought at much lower weight classes for a longer amount of time, which apparently puts him at a disadvantage... but we know that isn't the case, and it's the same with Mayweather vs Golovkin.

Lets also not forget the Mayweather motto that is 'size don't win fights, skills win fights'.

GGG would lose some muscle mass moving down but not much, he only rehydrates 11 pounds usually, so he can dehydrate a bit more and bring basically the same muscle mass to the fight. Regardless, my theory is still valid for fighters moving up, or rehydrating ridiculous weights. Pac was a beast and an obvious outlier to this equation.

yes he says that, but GGG has more natural middleweight muscle mass than even Canelo. When does the one upping and search for a Mayweather destroyer stop? Aint ya'll the least bit interested in a fight being fair?

What does Floyd fighting Gatti and Baldomir at 140 and 147 have to do with fighting Golovkin. Odd thread.

                      Reloaded makes a good point.

If GGG can get down to 140 or 147 for the official weigh in....like Gatti and Baldomir did....then I'm sure Floyd will accommodate him with a fight.
