u cant say no promoter would have taken the risk. because golden boy eventually did, and they were right. arum should have tried to make the oscar fight. he let his own emotions get in the way. and thats the one knock on him as a business man.

My point exactly, and as a result (which HeroBrando just will not acknowledge for love nor money), fights that we still talk about today didn't happen. Arum didn't envision how big that fight would be and didn't envision how big Mayweather would be either. Two things that led to fights not happening. Trying to justify Arum's lack of vision doesn't alter the fact. Had he taken the risk, we would've had different fights and the boxing landscape may have been very different.

sounds like they didn't even, as Pretty Boy Greg said it ended up being 15m. But whenever you cut out a middleman, the pot grows. But it's not so simple to work without a promoter, very few gave done it, and Floyd probably benefited from Haymon;s guidance also.

That's independent of him not granting Floyd's unreasonable request, surely. It's not like that made any future business impossible.

No Floyd made 20-25 mil and Oscar a record 45- 52 mil when all said and done.

And there are a thousand links that said he made 25 mil

My phone won't open link but u can even read part of article with Mayweather thanking GBP for the prompt payment of his 20 mil purse

Didn't Bob pay off James Prince Jr, who mayweather had a contract with and an advance with as well?? Think Bob stepped up big for Floyd at that time... Maybe that's why Bob wasn't giving Floyd the exact amount Floyd was expecting

Yeah ok lets quit acting like Bob shelled out millions to get Floyd

Mayweather found himself in some trouble when he was in a fierce contractual battle with Prince. Top Rank stepped in and advanced him $610,000 to settle with Prince, and also cut Prince a check for 20 percent of Mayweather’s $3.05 million dollar purse for fighting Phillip Ndou.

Did TR ever pay Floyd back the money they owed him?

It seems like Arum cut himself out.

Mayweather made 25 and Oscar 52 million actually.
