It's the "let them eat cake" attitude, you've been around too long to be selling that. 99% of the fighters in the sport have a promoter and need one. Even Mr promoter Floyd is still only that in name after all these years. Only one guy has truly gone off on his own. So it's not a percentage play
I'm sure Mares has made more than Rigo in his career. And will make more in coming fights than Rigo. Arum himself said he thinks Rigo is a tough sell so I'm not sure where he goes from here to ever make a big pay again?

This is what I never understood about Manny. Like how can his advisors tell him Bob is good for him financially? Manny was huge and adored...dude could have made an insane amount of cash.

Only 7 mill for a Cotto fight is baffling.

          1. How does Top Rank refuse a Delahoya fight with Mayweather, because there wasn't enough money to be made on his end?

Mayweather wanted 20 million for Delahoya, and actually made 25 million+ after the fight. That's a few million for Arum.

          2. How was Top Rank able to offer 8 million for a Margarito fight, but only 6/7 million for Cotto and Hatton who were arguably as or more popular at the time?

          3. Did Mayweather buy out of his contract before the Baldomir fight with the Delahoya fight already lined up?

I'm not big on negotiations so if anyone could help me out here it'd be appreciated.

That's what so shocking, this tough sell guy is making more in his 12th fight than p4p, tv friendly Mexican with perfect English made in any fight in his whole career, and he's run a near Froch gauntlet

Yeah, I'm sure he made at least 2x for Trout

Btw, Arum was quoted for way more than 7m IIRC

Yet Mares has made more easily overall. Still has nothing to do with the original thread topic.

Cotto and Mayweather had like 50 million to split between them. Arum was offering peanuts compared

And Bob Arum literally saved Floyd's life from J Prince. Floyd came to Arum crying one day saying something like J Prince is gonna hurt me and my family and he doesn't accept credit. Bob Arum talked to J Prince and handled the situation and Floyd repays him by buying himself out of the contract.

If anyone owes anyone anything its Floyd owes Arum for saving his life
as much of an idiot you are, this is actually a true story that very few people know about. on the other hand, only through your elite stanning and obsession of mayweather did you even come across this.

theres more to it than that though, J Prince wasnt going to kill mayweather but he was definately going to make him very ****in uncomfortable. Since you have no idea who j prince is or his history with rap alot ill leave it at that.

No? There's 2 games in town, TR and GBP. This "independent promoter" thing is a fantasy. The other guys apparently have all their eggs in one basket, and hence their worthy fighters like Mares have to suffer sub market wages. Luckily this big fight got made, else it was gonna go downhill and very fast
