Blobby hates DLH and FLoyd, its that simple as a result he NEVER had plans of putting Pacy in with Floyd whilst Floyd did his best to make the fight. That simple.

    **** Arum
100-0 ppv split. duck. that simple.

How much do you think Donaire and Rigo's card cost?
But that came out of SHO's coffers. GBP has this 3m lying around, just for Mares. I get that's for a bigger name opponent, but you'd think they'd throw him a bone anyway. It looks embarrassing, after the Donaire Rigo purses were published.

        1. How does Top Rank refuse a Delahoya fight with Mayweather, because there wasn't enough money to be made on his end?

Mayweather wanted 20 million for Delahoya, and actually made 25 million+ after the fight. That's a few million for Arum.

        2. How was Top Rank able to offer 8 million for a Margarito fight, but only 6/7 million for Cotto and Hatton who were arguably as or more popular at the time?

        3. Did Mayweather buy out of his contract before the Baldomir fight with the Delahoya fight already lined up?

I'm not big on negotiations so if anyone could help me out here it'd be appreciated.
I think this can sum up the entire thing

The reason Mayweather opted for the buyout rather than waiting for the May 6 result was because the contract had a limited window for the buyout, one that expired before the De La Hoya fight. However, Arum said he would have extended the window if Mayweather had asked. What Arum wouldn't do, he said, was raise the guarantees for other fights outlined in the contract.

Arum said while Mayweather would have taken the $8 million to fight Margarito, he asked for a $10 million guarantee to fight opponents such as Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton, when Arum was only willing to guarantee $7 million.

Arum said Mayweather also asked for $20 million to fight De La Hoya, a fight Arum said he wasn't interested in participating in.

"That's not in the cards," Arum said. "He wants $20 million for the De La Hoya fight? It's not there. Sometimes, my man, you gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. We'll talk about things down the road."

Ellerbe said Mayweather opted for the buyout so he could be "more in control of when and who he fights next. It's as simple as that. There is nothing bad between Floyd and Bob."

Arum agreed that the split with Mayweather was not on bad terms like their brief breakup last year. In fact, Arum said, "We intend to be back together. Everything with this was honorable and good. I had offered him numbers [for a multi-fight contract extension] that were livable. His expectations are in the stratosphere. He was entitled to buy me out, and he did. We decided this was the best way to handle it. He is a free agent. We have agreed to work with each other [in the future]."

The split frees Mayweather to make a potential deal with De La Hoya without Arum as part of the promotion. His involvement would have made making a deal almost impossible: The head of Top Rank has openly feuded with De La Hoya, his former superstar, and their companies rarely do business together as a result.

Arum said he was simply not interested in participating in a De La Hoya-Mayweather fight, but not because of his distaste for De La Hoya.

"I don't want to, because if I did that fight, I would be working for such a small percentage, it's not worth it," he said.

and this threw more salt in the wound for old Arum

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has sued his former promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, claiming Arum still owes him money from his matches against Arturo Gatti in 2005 and Zab Judah in 2006.

The lawsuit, which was filed in Clark County (Nev.) District Court on March 7, seeks an accounting from those two fights and also claims that Arum breached his contract and did not operate in good faith.
Mayweather said his contract for the Gatti fight called for him to receive 85% of Top Rank's net revenues and his contract for the Judah fight called for him to receive 80% of the net revenues. He claims that Top Rank did not provide him the complete and final accounting for either fight despite repeated demands.

Mayweather does not specify an amount that he believes he is owed, but stipulates the statutory minimum of $10,000 for each of the five claims in the lawsuit. It is clear that he believes Arum shortchanged him much more than that for those two fights, which both did around 350,000 Pay-Per-View buys. Mayweather and his reps would not comment on the lawsuit.

I'm sure Delahoya can afford to save the 3 million.

What did Rigondeaux make on Pacquiao undercards? You understand these budgets need to be rationed.

            Top Rank doesn't lose lawsuits

And Bob Arum literally saved Floyd's life from J Prince. Floyd came to Arum crying one day saying something like J Prince is gonna hurt me and my family and he doesn't accept credit. Bob Arum talked to J Prince and handled the situation and Floyd repays him by buying himself out of the contract.

If anyone owes anyone anything its Floyd owes Arum for saving his life

I answered that. Plus look at the timeline, Floyd contract came before their 3m offer, it's not like there was a huge budget adjustment. It's just amazing they'd value another promoter's fighter, who may be overrated and the inferior fighter (so they claim) like 9 times as much as their crown ***el south of Broner.

Yeah, Top Rank should've just let the fight happen. Reminds me of the Delahoya/Mayweather negotiations really now, why not just have TR let the fight go on?

and basically work as a freelance boxer working with other promoters.
                  Does Mayweather have a license?
Floyd knew he was getting ripped off. If you look at what Arum offered 6 to 7 mil for Cotto and Hatton....look what he made on his own fighting those guys. Arum is a piece of ****t

Manny should have dropped this mfer a long time ago and we would have had the fight we all wanted years ago.
