There are plenty of quotes of him calling for Jones and Hopkins years earlier than they fought too. Dude clearly wanted to get paid but he was also all ready to go for the Hopkins/Showtime deal around 2002/03 and Hopkins was the one who opted to stay soft picking while he waited out his contract with King.
For instance in 2001: http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/b...nhagen-1972289
"I last fought abroad in Norway as an amateur 10 years ago. Hopefully, this will take me one step nearer a big-money clash with Roy Jones, sometime next year."
Or in 03: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/boxing/3030004.stm
"I want a big fight in the States and Hopkins is who I'm looking for," said Calzaghe.
"I'm just looking forward to bashing somebody else up - and I don't want to wait another six months for that to happen."
Hopkins turned down an offer of £3m to face Calzaghe last year, and since his last significant fight - against Felix Trinidad in 2001 - his financial demands have blown lucrative bouts with Roy Jones Jr and James Toney.Comment

Who's crying except you? I was just pointing out that you have clearly tried to sway things by selectively picking out one part of an article instead of posting the whole thing.
I mean its one thing to have an opinion but why try to distort the truth to try to pad it out?Comment

leaning froch on resume. there's discussion to be had over the matter, certainly. i don't think it's as cleanly cut for froch as some appear to believe. and i do believe some of froch's wins are being a bit overstated, and his losses ignored.Comment
