we are both right. i just happen to be more right. carl thompson was never a good boxer. he was a slugger. it's no surprise eubank was able to win some rounds but he couldn't fight effectively for more than 5 rounds in either fight. the sign of a finished fighter. similar to hatton vs senchenko. looked good for a bit then.....done. it was impressive that eubank didn't get ko'd in either fight but that's about it. johnny nelson schooled thompson in his next fight. johnny nelson....

I'm more impressed with Froch. Calzaghe is Britain's Floyd.

Carl Thompson was a tough guy. He had a huge size advantage on Eubank. Remember this is a guy who took David Haye's best and stopped him. Eubank always tired in fights. Prime or past prime. Lol@ comparing it to Hatton. Eubank was a very solid win for Calzaghe considering where he was in his career (Joe).

                    Reasonably close but Froch.

He fought in a better era, against higher ranked opposition and just beat better fighters.

The bias of familiarity.
I would have to argue that Eubank, who was unranked at 168, took the fight on a weeks notice, hadn't had a legit win in years and considered to be passed his prime about 5 years prior is absolutely not more impressive than all of Frochs wins.
