Is this a serious question? Calzaghe's resume has only two good prime opponents in 10 years of defending a world title, admittedly the smallest world title but if it says world on it then you don't expect to see a string of bums who dont make the top ten challenging for it for years on end. This was the only way Joe could remain undefeated, without it he'd have 3-5 defeats on his record.

Froch has faced five times that in his last five fights alone. He hasn't once dipped below top 3 contender level. Froch is interested only in fighting at the top level.

And to think this guy is not even on the ring's P4P list while Broner and Canelo are is disgusting.

          name them.

you mentioned Eubank who only showed up from 2 divisions above at late notice to pick up a cheque, and Brewer who was so ordinary he wasn't capable of keeping a title in a weak division.

Basically it comes down to the comparative attitudes of the two fighters.

Cal was happy to piss on his fans with non-contender title fights for a decade as long he got paid, Froch actually cares for his fans and fights accordingly the best.

Definitely Froch. Thank goodness you didn't put Roy jr up there for Calzaghe.

Resume isnt everything. Pacquiao has a better resume thatn FLoyd, but no way would i ever rate him higher.

Calzaghe beat Prime Kessler. And Froch went life or death with him twice.

                    revisionism, no less.

Calzaghe was getting beaten until Kessler gassed, as with the old bhop fight.

Joe Cal had a lot of basic weaknesses skillswise and was easy to hit - his chin, superior fitness and his way of picking opponents weak was his way of winning. There is a very good reason why he took 10 years to step his game up by facing Kess.

They absolutely are. There's a lot of notable names listed on his record that most current boxing fans will instantly recognize and that has a lot to do with those voting so overwhelmingly in Froch's favour (coupled with the fact that Calzaghe isn't exactly the most popular of fighters on this site.)

Wins over Abraham, Pascal, Mack and an old, diminished Glen Johnson really aren't all that impressive. And as much as has been made about the odds being stacked against him, there were plenty of people before and after the Froch fight who considered Bute a glass jawed, overprotected hypejob.
