Bombs and Mushadeen. Website hasn't been the same since.
I was thinking it could do under a mill, but that's BEFORE I found out there would be a 24/7 esque show to go along with it. I didn't know at the time cause I hadn't heard anything. And then we got 4 episodes, not to mention that cbs special that in some cases made Floyd look a bit more offensive and entertaining (not to say he isn't, speaking for casuals...) whenever they showed clips of his fights. Again, just thinking at the time people might take notice and maybe that generates more interest for new fans or casual fans.
But if it does under a mill that's not bad. 700k and up is decent, solid - good. It's not great considering the amount they've spent on Floyd and promoting, but it may just be the state of the game. The paying public doesn't wanna shell out their hard earned dollars on matches they're not interested in and I don't blame them. It's their money, they worked for it. Guerrero was a legit competitor for the time, but even amongst us the general consensus was that he didn't have the tools to make it competitive with the best, Floyd. People wanted Floyd-Pacquiao, they didn't get it and there isn't much interest in anything else atm.
Same I brought him up and people just talked about how he's a woman beater. I was kind of shocked.
Thats the only thing I saw before the fight, that was on every news station the Ruben Guerrero outburst right before the fight, that actually made it worse, a lot of people won't pay to support a woman beater. Not to mention those Articles the week of the fight about how Floyd was stomping on Josie harris and hitting her on the back of the head so the bruises dont show and painting the image of his kids running in fear.
Oscar De La Hoya was sweating when that happened and told Ruben to calm down.

All true, it seemed very calculated on Josie Harris' part to perhaps distract but that is only speculation and if it was calculated she has every right to do so. Just goes to show that not all publicity is necessarily good publicity. The public will buy into bad blood between fighters but I don't think the general public has much of a stomach for a loud mouth fighter with a new reputation of beating women. No disrespect to Floyd but that's just the perception that will continue to follow him from this point on. His actions not ours.
I am thinking these numbers are true. Didn't feel like a Floyd fight weekend at all. Sure I knew people that were watching the fight. But I knew a lot of people that elected to go to the Dodger game that normally wouldn't miss a big fight like this. Buddy bought this one or I would have streamed. The Mares fight was really good though. Floyd gave a great performance for him, but it was just not that entertaining.
As far as streaming, they have been around for many years, can't blame that for these numbers. I know people that were getting HD streams of Floyd/De La Hoya, didn't prevent it from breaking records. Didn't prevent Floyd/Cotto of doing huge numbers, and it wasn't the cause of this fight underachieving.
The problem is Showtime's crappy coverage. TBH, the fact it was on Showtime turned me off the fight a bit. I still ordered it, but I stopped watchin' All Access by episode 2. It doesn't have **** on HBO's 24/7 nor HBO's commentators. I'd rather hear Max troll than Paulie and the rest of the Showtime staff.
I also tend to agree with the notion that no looming mega fight means less interest in what was a generally easy fight for Floyd. He's not talking Canelo or a move to 154, Pacman is completely out of the picture at this point the general public doesn't really know any of the other 147 fighters. No point other than to just watch a masterful performance.
