I think we should probably wait for the officialy numbers to come out #1.
Secondly as I had said before... this was Showtime's first PPV event in how many years? Since Tyson/Lewis was co-promoted? That's been a long time ago. People are used to HBO. If the casual fan was used to buying HBO fights, they might know nothing about Floyd being with Showtime now. It's possible, but who knows. Like I said, let's wait for official numbers to be released.Comment

Two things I realized today...
1. Floyd's delusional days are over.
2. Floyd fans = *****s used to hype Floyd's PPV numbers now they say "I don't really care." LOL...what hypocrites.Comment

If thats true good. This is the second pay per view I didnt buy (the first being the last pacquaio vs marquez fight).Comment

Not looking good for PPV numbers if Floyd chooses Garcia for Sept. A Khan fight would actually sell more in Europe than hear but it would still be close to the numbers of the Hatton fight.Comment

Restating various ppv sales (floyds or anyone else) as if they have some relevance to this recent event misses the point.
The truth of the matter is:
If a 900K buy rate is accurate then there is enough money for everyone to get paid (fighters, promoters, distribution, and Broadcaster).
Fact: none of the other fighters on the card had previous ppv appearances... bringing no buying power to the event..... In my opinion Showtime knew this when it decided to put together this solid undercard.
What ever the final ppv buy rate is, Showtime will know exactly what Mayweathers selling power is against weak opposition with no support from any other fighters. They will have all the facts to determine how to proceed with promoting the next ppv event, the data to gage the profit they can expect, and most importantly how to protect their investment while growing the Showtime Boxing brand.
I am as much of a fan of Floyd as anybody but his balls are lodged deep, DEEP in your throat right now. 900K when you've been averaging well over 1M is not good. Numbers don't lie. You can't spin that.
Don't understand why folks are getting so offended about calling out dismal PPV numbers. As a fan, I like it because it may force Floyd to fight more viable opponents. Stop being so sensitive. Y'all ain't getting any of that PPV money.Comment

Under 1M is not bad under normal circumstances, but at Mayweather's standards, they're just okay. It's Showtime that probably overestimated Floyd's sales when they signed him up.
It's not surprising this PPV didn't do as well as his other fights:
1-) Guerrero doesn't have a fanbase.
2-) A huge part of the attraction was wondering whether PAC or Floyd would slip up before fighting each other (if they ever did). The PAC-Floyd dream was lingering, though the interest was pretty gone. After PAC-JMM 4, the fight expired.
Floyd still has that '0' in his loss column, and as long as he has that and keeps running his mouth, he will continue to rile people up and have them tune in.
The PAC-Floyd hope was helping sales, though.
Floyd makes crazy money if he goes back to HBO, goes on 24/7, and fights Canelo. That is the next biggest money fight.Comment
