bottom line... ward is a technical BOXER... and is a NICE guy. imo, that is a HORRIBLE combination for marketability this era. trout suffers from the same problem.

Awesome post. You have to have personality in boxing. A lot of the guys we talk about on a constant basis have some shred of personality. Whether it's Floyd being braggadocios, Manny singing on Jimmy Kimmel, Ali talking trash, Roy Jones Jr. dancing in the ring, or Camacho with his entrance antics, you have to have something to get people talking about you. Especially if you aren't know for vicious KOs. George Foreman was a big quiet man back in the day but he was knocking fools out, so people talked about him. Every Ward starts getting KOs and looking impressive then he can keep his image and attract fans. But as it stands now, he's just a great boxer who'll be known amongst fanatics, but casual fans will forever be like "Ward, who?".

We all have a friend or know someone who's the outspoken, wild one. Shoot that's the person we want to kick it with when we watch boxing or other sports. Or if you go out to check out some chicks.

Did you read what I posted? I said he has some qualities of what everyone should act like e.g. being respectful to others.

I'm not saying everyone has to be the same but there are universal qualities which everyone should aspire to.

Chill out mate, I think you know what I'm on about. I read your post, you have some interesting opinions, although I don't agree with them. I just thought I would let you know that ward is mixed race, I didn't know you already knew that.

Hatton was a beer drinking, farting, funny, down to earth everyman type of guy which is why he has the fanbase he has and he always came to fight.
