I hope it wasn't for calling me a monkey, it's such a weak insult it's not worth the recognition of a ban.....

vitali is not even close to the top 100. the great fighters beat other great fighters. when there were no other great fighters available they lined up the "very good" fighters and beat them.

vitali fought one great (lewis,) and one "very good" (chris byrd.)
      they both beat him.

hes probably top 175-300. obviously i have not calculated my top 300, though, so i can't say that for certain
I know this, but I've also heard guys on this board say Vitali is top 3 h2h, all time. That could qualify him in the ATG department.

More than two-thirds of the board say he's not an ATG. The reason, lack of quality opponents. If Vittles is an ATG we might as well say Brian Nielson is an all time great as well.

How long was Vitali the recognized number 1 in the division for? I'm trying to pick a few seconds somewhere between him being beaten up by lewis and before brother's subsequent domination of the heavyweight scene

Vitali isnt even worth ranking anymore.

A couple years ago I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he had the ko record but he doesnt even have that anymore. He is the ukrainian Deontay wilder nothing more.

From the time he beat Sanders right through his one great title defense against the immortal Danny Williams, until his subsequent duck of Rahman and retirement. An amazing run!!

He doesn't have Wilder's one punch power. Deontay would spark him.

Giving Lewis a "Tough fight" only puts you on the same level as Frank Bruno and a notch below Hasim Rahman.

Lewis was a lazy starter and often fought down to the level of his competition. I cant believe Vits entire legacy was pinned on him almost getting to LL. Its rather ridiculous a decade later.

There isn't even one decent win over a prime top notch fighter on his record ... hell there isn't even a win over a past it top notch fighter on his record ... I mean let's look at a proper modern ATG record

                    Lennox Lewis

                    beat ...
                    prime Bruno
                    prime Rudduck
                    prime VITALI KLITSCHKO
                    holyfield
                    tyson
                    Tua
                    etc etc etc

                    Vitali Klitschko
                    wins over
ummm corrie sanders and herbie hyde ...
