There can be only ONE world champion unless of course you're living in more than one world. I guess that explains your denial.

Peter - Crude slugger who went tooth and nail with a former middleweight

Adamek - Former lightheavyweight who's best win at heavy was Arreola

Arreola - Has never beaten another top 10 heavyweight

Donald - His career best win is over a ten years past his best Tim Witherspoon

Hide - His best win was over 11-1 Michael Bentt

Sanders - Never beat a top ten fighter before or after Wlad. Was stopped by Nate Tubbs

Williams - Come on, this is a guy who lost to Julius Francis

        Kirk Johnson
        - Possessed skills but in his biggest fights always came in fat and out of shape

Gomez - Former cruiserweight who beat a few guys thought to be decent but were either past it or went on to accomplish nothing

Solis - Talented but still a novice by professional standards. Ridiculed for never being in shape

To say that Vitali, who broke many records in boxing is not an ATG or HOFer is absolutely ludicrous!

He fought all the available opponents.
You must have missed the memo.....

Since 2000, and excluding the years he missed, these are all the top 10 fighters he didn't fight for one reason or another.

          Tyson
          Holyfield
          Tua
          Maskaev
          Rahman
          Ruiz
          McCline
          O'Quendo
          Jones jr
          Toney
          Golota
          Brewster
          Barret
          Chagaev
          Povetkin
          Valuev
          Dimitrenko
          Chambers
          Haye
          Boystov
          Thompson
          Helenius
          Pulev
          Fury

Pretty long list, huh? So much for fighting everybody. I guess we don't have to end the thread after all.

Yeah because Vitali wasn't out of the game for 4 years, was he?

These are the fighters in the top 10 from his active period. Excluding his retirement.

You just have to see that what you are rubbishing him for is exactly the sort of behaviour you are crediting your past ATG's for doing!

"I" am the one finding it hard to argue through such bias reasoning!

You should see what ex-Soviet boxing fans have to say about the HOF and the ATG business and the comparisons of their fighters with your old ones.

HA, you think I'm the one being over the top!

I can pretty much guarantee you Vitali WILL get in. Because despite all the rubbishing of his opponents you and JAB have done, they are still better than any pre 85 opponents! And that's simple to see for anybody who does not live in the USA! I'm not even European!

                    Vitali is not an ATG,

he just didn't do enough, I am suprised to see so many replies, and so many people arguing on his being an ATG.

That said, Vitali is not the "jab-jab-grab" kind of fighter, he opens up quite a bit and relies on his chin. Even though way past his prime now, I would not define Vitali boring, on the contrary, I find his style rather crowd- friendly.

I do though agree about Wladimir being boring, and I like fighters like Rigondeaux , Mayweather , Willie Pep (a white guy, so no racist card please ) etc, but his "jab-jab- grab" style is a nightmare. How many rounds did it take him to dispose of Pianeta?, a guy who obviously had no business being in that fight.

Are you trying to insinuate I am biased against European fighters?

No. You still didn't answer the question. Which one of Vitali's victims were regarded the same as Liston, Frazier, Foreman, Norton or Shavers were in their time.

Come on, lay it out for me.
