I don't think it's the same to be honest.

Margarito is one of the Top WW's of his era and it would have been the two best WW's at the time (by far) against each other in their primes.

Guererro-Mayweather is nothing like that despite the similar ranking.

Robert Guerrero is a certified welterweight. Now he doest have to lose 20-30 lbs in camp. Notice how his body is better able to absorb punishment.

Remember we are talking about a guy who was getting handled by Daud Yordan for 2 rounds and seemed to be looking for a way out of the fight.

See how easily the Guerrero fight was made? Its because Guerrero is as just as easy to hit as Ortiz and Floyd figures he can pot shot him all fight long, which he will. Margarito in those days was a tall, volume punching machine that was known for walking through massive shots and wearing opponents down. Everyone knew that he'd pick Robert instead of someone like Alvarez or Martinez because hes the easier fight. I'm just glad everyone is finally starting to pick up on this.

So my answer to your question is, it doesn't matter who fought who. Floyd chose Guerrero because hes an easy fight. Just like he was fighting people like Judah (who was coming off a loss) and Baldomir rather than fighters like Williams and Margarito. He wants easy fights and big money, that should be his catch phrase.
The Judah fight was already signed before the Baldimir loss. Williams wasn't even a ranked fighter at that time. There is a lot of fiction in your post.
