Martinez is a great boxer,but when is the last time he Fought a Slick Boxer With Handspeed and Good defense? Maybe never. A Prime 160 Winky Wright,Hopkins,Roy Jones JR would all Starch this guy. Its Not his Fault that the Competition is Not good, but on the same hand...Dont talk down to 147 fighters and run from from 168 fighters. Ward would Tear into that ass @ 164 Catchweight. i bet Sergio or Dibella would want no part of That. They talk **** and say Super middleweights are too big, Yet they wanna Fight JCC who was 181 lbs on fight night against Rubio. Stop it Dibella.

That's not an excuse that's the truth. His opponents got tired, stopped moving and allowed him to get closer and closer so he was able to do more damage and eventually stop them.

Floyd tires his opponents as while. Listen, not saying you have to like or respect Martinez as a fighter/boxer but in the same breath don't take away what he does in his fights. Martinez does not have the all around boxing skill t0 defeat Mayweather. His style is basic and repetitive.... Paw jab, paw jab..straight left....rinse & repeat...he is able to showboat against C class fighters....

Yes, he was backpeddlin against Macklin. Macklin was being more of the aggressor -- backing Martinez up for a lot of the fight until Macklin started fallin apart. That in itself shouldn't have happened.

Martinez is bigger and stronger than Mayweather, no doubt about that. But he is not faster than anyone Mayweather has faced. I find it odd for anyone to even say that. I would give you that for maybe Pacquaio, but not for anyone else really. And his awkward wild style is exactly what makes him fodder against a true boxing technician because they will know how to pick that apart really easily.

Marquez and Martinez, if they were to fight at the same weight (where Martinez didn't have a major size advantage of 20 lbs, but more like lets say 5 to 10), he would have fits dealing with Marquez. Marquez would tear him apart because he has a far higher boxing IQ and much more sound boxing skills. Martinez would get schooled. Martinez is no different from Pacquaio and Hamed with the exception of size. When faced against boxing technicians, they always get schooled. Their athletic gift only gets them so far.

But obviously, this is just a fictitious scenario since there is no way either of them can ever fight each other due to the size difference.

Marquez is a dog, I don't see how anybody can dislike what Marquez does. He's definitely my favorite over the past decade, and if he was closer in size than yeah he probably could outclass Sergio. I disagree with you when mentioning Sergio's hand speed. I don't how you can say he is bad technically and not agree that his hands being exceptionally quick, hell that's how he gets over his fundamental flaws. I think another thing that we miss is the guy's chin. When you have a good beard you can take more chances. No doubt he would get countered by the technically best in the sport...Floyd etc, but he keeps knocking on the door with that straight left. Sooner or later he's gonna get you. He's stopped some pretty big guys lately.

Apparently. if you move your feet and attempt to dodge your opponents attack your a runner or back peddler. I agree with you man, the dude I felt fought a pretty good fight against a guy that was a pretty solid middleweight. It is like listening to Larry Merchant(who I think should call it quits). He eventually figure out a way to break through and that he did, in dramatic fashion, what more do these cats want?

Mosley is a more skilled boxer and a smarter boxer than Sergio Martinez. Martinez is a wild and awkward fighter who has been very successful against guys who lack fundamentals. But like Pacquaio and Prince Naseem -- their wild awkward styles are exposed when facing a boxing technician. It is only then that you see their styles is actually amateurish.

If Martinez fought Marquez -- Marquez too would just pick him apart and school him the same damned way he did Pacquaio. Why? Because Marquez has a much higher boxing IQ and has much better boxing skills.

No he's not. Mosley has always fought one kind of way and he was NEVER successful at 154. Martinez is a boxer/fighter and Mosley could never adapt to a technical fighter or someone who showed different looks. Vernon Forrest ducked Martinez for a long time until he was forced to vacate his title. Mosley could not beat Forrest to save his life in the amateurs and pros. You are reaching with the Marquez comment. Martinez getting in the ring with JMM would be a homicide. You guys need to think more about styles and how they mesh rather then being emotional and just spurting non sense out because of some kind of dislike to Martinez. Sergio would kill Pacquiao in the ring. If Floyd did win it would be by a split decision. IF the fight ever happened I'm leaning towards Martinez in a fight that I can see being 50/50.

I agree KO'ing guys back to back is good but look at who he KO'ed...these aren't A Class fighters. Serhiy Dzinziruk? Darren Barker? Matthew Macklin who just came off a loss to Felix Sturm before he fought Martinez.

He hasn't fought any of the Top Middleweights....
