Jeff and Roger always say that Floyd Jr can easily beat those opponents - Martinez and Pacman. But, then they can't convince Floyd Jr to really take either of those two guys to fight inside the ring.

They should convince Floyd Jr to give those two guys a fair shake on what they're asking for (50-50 & 20%), after all, as per analysis of Jeff and Roger, Floyd Jr can easily whop them up!

There is no chance in hell that Sergio keeps those hands down around Floyd.

When was the last time you saw Floyd in with someone that fights with they're hands down? In all honesty Floyd has'nt fought anyone with the athleticism, power, heart, and speed that Martinez has? Martinez also has the ability to adapt.

if floyd moved up to middleweight and whooped martenez, chavez and sturm all in one night you'd still have haters saying **** like #oh it means nothing martenez was too old, chavez was a paper champion, Sturm was just plain crap etc etc' its just the way it is.

sounds crazy but its true!!!!...some dudes are overrated but Floyd is the only fighter I know thats over-hated....his haters don't take days off....they love their job!!!!

Fully agreed and I have been saying this since Mayweather beat Mosley, which was the first time Mayweather vs Martinez talks started. And then it was basically confirmed when Marquez beat Pacquiao.

As far as im concerned if Floyd beats Cotto, Sergio is FLoyd next opponent, and Floyd should take responsibility on his shoulders to beat Sergio before someone beats him to it.

Floyd should stop doubting himself and his abiliities. He can beat Sergio at 154 if he dares to challenge himself. Most 147 guys if offered the chance to fight Sergio they would take it as an honour.
But FLoyd is a bit different, he is a bit sensitive and easily spooked. He needs reassuring that he will get a pat on the back if he does step up to the plate.

Spot on, at 154 pounds Martinez beats Mayweather and at 160 Martinez mauls him. Sergio is just too big, powerful, athletic, fast, and comes in at so many different angles due to his dancing feet. To come up seven pounds in weight and hope to maintain your speed on such a small frame, only works against relative soft touches like Cotto or Margarito. Against Martinez however, that's a different story.

No, Mayweather is just an expert in damage limitation, it's an art he's perfected throughout his career. As for Mayweather beating Martinez, that's unlikely.

floyd would beat martinez. the only thing that would keep him from being totally outclassed would be the size.

floyd's got the sense to land shots on martinez, and he's not going to be a big puncher against a jr mw // mw but it will be enough to effect martinez, who doesnt take the shots very well

he'd get his gloves up to block the left and roll the right hands. i really dont think martinez would land much. macklin and barker and dzinziruk threw some wrinkles in there and gave him some problems
floyd mayweather is on another planet in terms of the skills compared to those guys. all they are is bigger.


i think he'd finish the fight walking martinez down.
