Besides, these "haters" will do the same to Martinez as they would do to Pac if Floyd beats him... Your point is moot.....
Hate? What about FACTS? Mosley was OLD when he fought Floyd. Floyd even said it .... but when others say it, it's all about hate .... lol!
Just remember, a Mayweather was the first to say that about Martinez .... I on the other hand said, if Floyd intends on fighting a Martinez, it better be very soon because if he doesn't then its obvious that people would say that ...
A record is very important but even that, once you get to a certain age, you need to take it one fight at a time AND Martinez had his moments last week but damn, he nearly blew it! If Macklin had a bit more in him, that fight could have gone the other way ..... but I say Bravo to Martinez because he did it at the end.

i agree...the only question i have is how often would floyd throw the right hand (or open up) knowing sergio can crack?..
sergio can get away with having his hands low if he's fighting someone who is not faster than him...floyd is a speedster and has the best right hand in the game which happens to be sergio's kryptonite..

I remember bringing up that Sergio fights with his hands down..and that Floyd would make him pay for it..this was right after the Barker fight..some ppl were trying to say Sergio only does it when hes comfortable, which is bull..cause thats how he trains as well..Im glad Jeff notices that would be one of his issues fighting Floyd as well..
and skill vs skill..they are worlds apart..at 154, Floyd taxes that a$$..period.

He should have never left MW! Now his legacy won't be the same! But unlike Roy, money uses more boxing skill than athleticism, so he'll last longer!
I don't expect Floyd to tire, but what he definitely wouldn't have is the kind of size Macklin brought into the ring. I think that is the issue, would he be able to handle what martinez would throw at him. Floyd , I think is skilled enough to make up for what he would lack in terms of size, buy you never know. 154 would not be that big of a deal for Martinez to get down to, and he would rehydrate to his normal fighting weight. He's not that big of a middleweight as it.
is. The size and speed issue combined with him being a southpaw is creates major problems.
Jeff and Roger can talk all the **** they want but at the end of the day Floyd would be in the ring with an athlete with a combination of size and speed that is not comparable to anything he has ever been in with, and that's the reality of it.

That's how I see this one playing out also... I think the fight is Mayweather's to win or lose but he has to be careful because Martinez can definitely crack and he punches from crazy angles....
