Martinez is clearly the best MW in the world but lets be serious. He hasnt fought at 154 in 3 years. And if I remember correctly he wasnt all that dominate then. He struggled against Kermit Cintron.

Martinez didn't struggle. 1st he should have had a KO, the judging in that fight was terrible and practically everybody thought he won easily. but that's what happens when you fight a Don King fighter, just ask Campillo

Floyd should take the challenge against Martinez, even Oscar went up to challenge Bernard and Bhop was huge!Floyd says weigh don't win fights, his words.Let's be honest when's the last time Floyd fough a slick pure boxer?Does Judah count?Floyd hasn't dealt with fast guys, the only fast guys would be who?Hatton and Judah?Maybe Mosley? This fight should happen at 155,156lbs.Accordng to Lou Martinez has to eat to make 160lbs.

Mayweather camp certainly still talk a good fight, so get it on then.
I always believed that FLoyd put his opponents on pedestals and thats why he never fought certain people. I thought Floyd had an inferiority complex.

Floyd can prove his doubters wrong once again.

been wanting this fight for a long time. its a pick em fight. the build up for this can really be special if Floyd gets behind it. Sergio deserves the best, and Floyd deserves the props. no thoughts on Pac until after the Bradley bout. this is the mega fight.

floyd would beat martinez. the only thing that would keep him from being totally outclassed would be the size.

floyd's got the sense to land shots on martinez, and he's not going to be a big puncher against a jr mw // mw but it will be enough to effect martinez, who doesnt take the shots very well

he'd get his gloves up to block the left and roll the right hands. i really dont think martinez would land much. macklin and barker and dzinziruk threw some wrinkles in there and gave him some problems
floyd mayweather is on another planet in terms of the skills compared to those guys. all they are is bigger.

i think he'd finish the fight walking martinez down.

As far as im concerned if Floyd beats Cotto, Sergio is FLoyd next opponent, and Floyd should take responsibility on his shoulders to beat Sergio before someone beats him to it.

Floyd should stop doubting himself and his abiliities. He can beat Sergio at 154 if he dares to challenge himself. Most 147 guys if offered the chance to fight Sergio they would take it as an honour.
But FLoyd is a bit different, he is a bit sensitive and easily spooked. He needs reassuring that he will get a pat on the back if he does step up to the plate.

                      +1

the size advantage will keep it interesting, esp at 154 but martines style, while effective against less physically gifted fighters, wouldn't be much of a problem for floyd. maybe a huge shot will shock floyd but most probably not. he'll pick martinez apart in the later rounds
