Something very wrong when a 181 pound fighter calls out guys around 154.

He weighed in at 159.5lbs. I think they said he had to make a second trip back to the scales and strip. Came in fight night at 181lbs. Damn.... wth? And he seems adimant about staying at 160lbs. I don't get why? He's killing himself every fight. When Merchant asked him what he was going to do to change it so he doesn't have to dehydrate, he just basically said "don't do it again". But.... he will, I'm sure of it. He needs to move up for sure.

I really like the way Top Rank has been bringing Chavez around. They have brought him up perfectly so far IMO. And, Chavez is a pretty good draw.

But, a Margarito fight next is honestly crap. However, if they match him up against Andy Lee...That would be great.

And, no he shouldn't be fighting Martinez. Stop asking for that fight.

After that performance I believe Margarito beats him. There aint no way in hell that Chavez out punches and bully's Margarito. People forget that Margarito was off 13 months before he fought Cotto, so if that fight happens in the summer Margarito wins

That's dangerous. It gives a fighter a weight advantage but it increases the risk for serious head injury. Might be time to consider moving up.

I don't think Chavez was tested by a ligitimate opponent tonight. This was the first time I'd seen Rubio fight and from all the talk and his KO record I expected him to be a really hard puncher. All of his punches from the 1st round til the 12th were just pitty pat punches and mostly arm punches & Chavez just walked thru everything he had to offer. I truly want to see Chavez in with someone who can really hit, like Sergio. If Chavez inherited his father's chin he probably will be able to take a solid punch but so far his chin hasn't been tested.

No, Pavlik is 6'2" & Chavez Jr is 6'0"....& Rubio is listed as 5'10" even thou he's like 6'1" cause he did look just a bit taller than Chavez Jr..
