I don't think Miguel "Dinosaur arms" Cotto jab would give Floyd much trouble. In my opinion in order for your jab to work effectively well against Floyd, you'd have to be a lanky tall type of Boxer like, Castillo, Oscar, and Phillip N'dou were.
Cotto has a good chance of beating mayweather!

floyd by late tko--actually--i feel he will catch him with a brutal haymaker that puts cotto out for good---cotto's best trait is his tempered pace--he comes across as a technician by just his overall game but he's not a traditionally skilled, throwback boxer--floyd will shock cotto with a brutal shot that puts miguel away--and he won't know what hit him---people need to understand floyd's deceptive punching power---he could have easily stopped shane if he wanted--shane kept holding onto floyd for dear life---when floyd doesn't back up--he takes his opponent's distance away, just ask victoriano sosa and henry bruselles---who imo mimicks cotto's style--and sosa imo was a much better technician than cotto ever dream of--and those who bash me over this statement needs to go back and watch his style a little more--that was floyd at 135 pounds after his injury with castillo and of course the rematch-lol
i always thought cotto would be hammered by floyd--thank God arum never wanted to put cotto in there with floyd--he knew cotto was a slower version of sosa and lesser skilled fighter--
to this day, floyd will punish the **** out of cotto--fighters get overhwhelmed when floyd doesn't back up from them---he walks them down and his defense moving forward is top notch--he is never uncomfortable in any part of the ring---don't question me on this--i'm known as a floyd ****rider to people on here, so you know i know his style better than anyone on this forum--trust me-lol
through each weight classi have seen him evolve--and his adjustment to anyone's style still amazes me--he can beat you at your own game before he even puts his arsenal into the fight---this kid will never lose until he fights me---i'm the southpaw version of him--i have his style mastered---and trust and believe folks---he will not lose to anybody besides me-lol---
you can mark these words--i would love to spar with him and fight him on ppv---because it would be an honor to dethrone him--his little trademark moves are incredible--this kid is as close to the perfect fighter as you'll ever see--and i'm right there with him--
cotto would be punished--manny is going to get punished and sergio would give him steep competiton en route to a losing effort--
floyd's skillset is hard to master because it looks predictable and that's how he beats you---he takes away your confidence by making you think you can handle him--and you will be in for a rude awakening homeys--trust me--because he will out-adjust you and show you something different in each fight--and you're stuck in awe afterwards--the only style that will beat floyd today is floyd's style---lolLast edited by pbftxrs316; 01-27-2012, 03:54 PM.Comment

Yes, he's definitely not prime anymore. But, he's still really good. He's past his prime-still good. When will Floyd hit that wall where he's past his prime-not that good anymore????? I have no idea. I'd like to see Floyd fight 4 more times (May 12', Nov-Dec 12', May-June 13', and Nov-Dec 13'). But, we will probably only see him 2 or 3 more times.
I'd still say Floyd's prime was 2000-2007. His will and smarts have been a major factor in his winning fights since 06-07, but he is still as skilled as anyone. Yes, he's not as quick in the legs anymore, but his walk him down style suits him perfectly for this stage in his career. His hands are still quick as hell, and his D is still sharp. He still shoots his right with the speed of a jab and can still throw his check hook fast, as well as his left hook coming forward.
He's not "PRIME", but he's still good. He's still got a lot left and enough to achieve greatness.
If I had to say where I think Floyd is in his career, in relation to where another fight was in their career......I'd say he's like how Ali was in 72' or so. Ali was NOT prime after the layoff, but he was still good until after the 3rd Frazier fight. He wasn't as quick in his legs, still had quick hands, but couldn't dance the whole fight, or throw a high volume of combos like he did from 63-67 in his prime.
Floyd still has 2 years left of top fighting, until he really fades and isn't that good I think.
Manny is past his prime-still good as well. They are both sort of where Hagler and Leonard were when they fought. Neither guy was absolute prime, but both were still really good and the fight was a mega-fight. I'd say Manny's prime was 2002-2009. Floyd and Manny were never in the same weight classes in their primes.
Cotto is past his prime-still good as well. He's basically the same guy he was in 09' when he fought Manny, only at SWW. It's kind of important that Floyd gets Cotto while he's still good on his resume. Manny gets more credit because he did it first, but Floyd still gets his due if he beats Cotto. Same thing with Hatton, only vice-versa obviously.
If no May-Pac right now, it better be Mayweather-Cotto at 154 and Pacquiao-Bradley. And if they both win, they better fight in November or December.Last edited by 4Corners; 01-27-2012, 04:02 PM.Comment

and i know cotto stopped sosa---styles make fights---and the triangle thoery has never meant as less as it does with this scenario---cotto outworked sosa---but in regards to sosa--he could never take a fighter who outworked him--never--and cotto outmuscled sosa--sosa used too much energy in the cotto fight too early--and cotto punished him for it-lol---
but cotto's skillset overall could never match sosa's---it's all of the other intangibles that lost sosa that fight--Comment
