I'm not saying Cotto is better than that DLH, and Mayweather may very well dog walk Cotto, but I don't think it's as bad of a match-up as most people try to make it seem..Cotto could have some early success with a decent jab and a straight right, the left hook would be absent all night tho..

I mean, Mayweather-Martinez makes 0 sense if it's at 150lbs, his recent pictures look as if he's having to work hard enough to get to 160lbs and he's also 37 now, a 150lb Martinez would be like the DLH that Pacquiao fought..

Based off styles, Cotto is the best match for Mayweather..what else is out there really..
You're right about this, Cotto is good alternative if pacquiao AND Martinez can't happen

I sorta agree about the hook. Its possible to land on mayweather, obviously its gonna be difficult to at first tho (to the head). The body will be there, cottos right hand needs to show up to the fight. And considering either trainer is no slouch, i beleive it will. If any of mayweathers last few fights are any indications, he is gonna try and stand right in front of cotto. Imo, that doesnt bode well for mayweather. Floyd aint beating anybody down, much less cotto. He is not a volume puncher.
Dude stop it, your killing me with this BS! Cotto is garbage and he has no chance at defeating Mayweather, or any other top fighter at ww and up! Stop dreaming son, please just stop waisting your time and others.

The Ortiz that fought Berto and Mayweather would stop Cotto and Pac on the same night!

Im not dissing Cotto as a person, but as a fighter, I truly believe his heart is gone. Margarita took it away. Cotto will never be the same fighter mentally. If he gets in thier with Mayweather it will end very badlly for Cotto, maybe even career ending for Cotto. I just dont think he can suffer through another one sided beating like that again.

He's gonna need at least four different fight plans because Mayweather negates them so quickly. Shoot the jab constantly, but make sure you follow it with a hook or straight right to keep Mayweather honest. He needs to invest to the body. Mayweather would block alot of them, but he can be hit there. It would take an all out perfect night for Miguel, but I believe it's something he's capable of.

As far as the asinine headbutt attempt, I don't think he did it out of frustration. I think that Ortiz thought he was having some success (I think he was as well) bullying Floyd and got overexcited and ******ly took it too far.

Finally, please don't interpret my above posts to mean that I think that were the fight to have continued that Victor would have won because I don't.

I have (and have had) Floyd as the favourite in any fight below 160.

Even the ones he won't make happen.
I can appreciate some of this.. Saying it was excitement as opposed to frustration. But, what happened to Vic the moment prior to him throwing the butt? He missed. Just like he missed, and was blocked or otherwise mitigated with over 90% of his shots thrown. In my mind what does this breed? Frustration. But excitement was there too seeing as it was such a grand stage for Ortiz. He had never been in such a spectacle before and I think he was enjoying that aspect of it, prior to the end of the bout. As to him getting to MW, it amazes me how people just go bananas when someone gets MW on the ropes, but the thing is, that's when he's probably the most defensively solid. He rope a dope's quite well. Quite well indeed. I don't view MW as ever having been in danger in that fight, except possibly from the head butt, but not really.

Here's his problem. Cotto's right hand is sub-par. You need one of those to make it competitive with Mayweather.
