According to people in this thread, Lewis beat Holyfield (the second time)when Holyfield was smack, **** in his prime and by a clear margin.

To be fair here, Tyson wasn't beating the murderer's row of heavyweights either. Spinks was a good win.

That's true but Lewis also has wins over fighters like prime Tua, Ruddock, and Bruno which trumps any win on Vitali's record. Even Gary Mason was better than Sam Peter.

Def see ur point..... I think it's a combo of Vits greatness and Lewis being past it as well as the controversy of the (non)rematch fiasco that adds to the mystique.....

Similar to the man in my avi I think

Tyson's resume is leagues & leagues & leagues ahead of Vitali's. And very comfortably ahead Wlad's.

They aren't even done fighting so I think all of this judgement is a bit premature.

                    His absolute prime?

I'd say around 90-91 were his best absolute day's physically. He was yet to do much at Heavyweight at that point but he had experience elsewhere. Was seasonsed and physically at his best.

One of the best I actually saw him was against Pinklon Thomas in 88. Great performance from Holyfield.

I'd still say he was in his prime for the First 2 Bowe fights.

After the 3rd one it was clear he was past his best days. I considered him pat prime going into the first fight with Tyson in 1996.

He obviously and definitely was not in his prime in 1999. That's for a ****ing definite.

It's an interesting debate and one I've never really thought to compare. I do have Tyson over both Klits, all-time, for what it's worth. To say he is leagues and leagues above them though, is premature.
