Good point..... But how much better can say Vit get from this point resume wise.... Both are in shouting distance of some impressive records but they both have impressive stats already but that hasnt changed anything.... Unfortunately they will always be blamed for something out of their control....

If that's the case, why would you even include them in the poll? What's the point of comparing guys with full, complete careers, to guys with incomplete careers?

I'd say around 90-91 were his best absolute day's physically. He was yet to do much at Heavyweight at that point but he had experience elsewhere. Was seasonsed and physically at his best.

One of the best I actually saw him was against Pinklon Thomas in 88. Great performance from Holyfield.

I'd still say he was in his prime for the First 2 Bowe fights.

After the 3rd one it was clear he was past his best days. I considered him pat prime going into the first fight with Tyson in 1996.

He obviously and definitely was not in his prime in 1999. That's for a ****ing definite.
I agree. I don't think either were in their prime at all. Lewis was definitely closer to it though.

Strange how the perception before the fight where Holyfield was favoured over Lewis (Lewis is soft, and chinny, inexperienced, etc.) changes in an instant for the rematch.

Don't think so pal. Sanders 03 alone would have destroyed both these jokers. And Tua Lewis was a snoozer. Mason was a domestic fighter, probably on a lower level than Chisora is now.

From the "other" category (as in none of the poll alternatives) how would you rate the top 3 next in line? In terms of greatness.

Great question. I'd maybe put Michael Moorer in the discussion. Shame Ibeabuchi turned out to be a nutcase

Yeah, Lewis was definitely closer to his prime at that point. Way less wars and tough fights than Holyfield despite the two knockout losses.

Yeah, Lewis stepped up and did what he had to do. Holyfield was past his best but he was still the best fighter in his Division other than Lewis himself. And he beat him fair and sqaure and clearly (the first time) and he deserves full credit for that.

It's a very good win. Probably his best win, IMO.

That you think the Tua fight was a "snoozer" does nothing to detract from the win. Lewis totally shut out a very dangerous prime contender, hence the fight being less than thrilling.

And Ruddock and Bruno were far from jokers. Sanders wasn't a joke either, though his training regime often was.
