Is Mayweather the most well-rounded fighter ever?

All boxers are going to get hit no matter what. It's inevitable. Floyd is going to get hit, and yes Floyd is going to get hit in the Cotto fight as well. No way around it. Zab Judah rocked him, Shane Mosley rocked him, but the point is...he never got rocked again. Out of all the boxers active right now, he probably gets hit less than any of them.Comment

Did he knock him out? Has anyone ever knocked him out?
Has he ever dropped onto the canvas?
Face it. Mayweather is the most talented fighter out there, period. No one comes close.Comment

This...he has the ability to adjust.
Guys like Pacquiao have been dropped by jabs and body shots and relied on gift decisions throughout their careers...
Floyd and the Klits are just on another level in terms of talent and dominance in their division.Comment

Oh don't get me wrong. Compared to the past boxers, I still rate Floyd one of the best defensive specialist. His defense is an evolution of what all the previous boxers had. Pernell Whitaker, I feel was the best defensive fighter. But this thread is about the most well rounded. I do feel Floyd is the most well rounded fighter today. Maybe even yesterday. If he can land at will without getting hit, than it that is a sign of good offense and defense. I don't care how many punches are thrown. If Floyd throws only 5 punches and 4 of them land, that is good, effective and accurate offense. And I'm not just talking offense and defense here. I see so many fighters, both boxing and MMA get frustrated. I never see Floyd get frustrated. Even if he's behind on the scorecard. He fights coming forward and going backwards, depending on who he is fighting. Which is how it should be. You have to be adaptable to your opponents, rather than just fighting one style. Versatility is important. Boxing was never meant to be about one style. People love the Pacquiao's and the Nick Diaz because they are always going forward, but sometimes you're going to run into a Marquez. Condit who usually goes for the knockout fought differently because he knew he couldn't **** with Nick Diaz.
So yes, I do think Floyd is the most well rounded.Comment
