I'm not saying fight the next available but the best available.

I didn't Floyd any slack for fighting Mosley or Ortiz(who probably didn't "deserve" it by your logic) but was the best available.

That's all fans can ask is to fight the best available. Isn't that what you're asking from Bute? Well actually you're not since Ward is the best available. And, obviously you making as to why that fight shouldn't happen.

Even going by your "deserving" logic. If you're the #1 contender to the crown how are you not "deserving" of the title shot?

If the top 2 guys in the division are not deserving to fight each other then who is?

Again it's not who the next available guy is...Is who the best available guy. And, And, Bute is not only the best available but is the best SMW not named Ward.

So if none of this guys are deserving what should Ward do? Sit out? Not fight? He only fights twice a year, should he more inactive than that?

You're asking an elite P4P level fighter to either sit out or fight lesser competition. This is what I'm getting from your post. Correct if I'm wrong though.

I have no problem with Ward fighting a gimme and/or one of the Dirrell Brothers next year. While building up his fan base. And, Bute in the mean time faces the likes of Froch or Cloud if it makes you happen. As long as the fight happens at the end of 2012. Ward-Bute is the fight that needs to be made at 168 to remove any doubt that anyone may have over the fighters.
Yes, that's what I'm saying and I'm sure Ward agrees.

I'm saying Ward should sit out until his opponents sort themselves out with fights, not promoter politics.

Once someone "earns" the right to fight Ward with a fight or two, then he should welcome it.

Bute is the next best challenger, but not because he "earned" it, he's the next best challenger by default. What don't you, turbotime, and Dave understand about that?

That's just plain ridiculous but whatever.

I can't speak for them. But, I have always felt Bute was an elite SMW guy. In the top 3 prior to the S6 starting, during the S6, and after the S6.

Don't get me wrong, Bute is a good fighter against mid-level competition. I'm not knocking Bute the fighter, I'm knocking his resume.

Turbotime seems to think I'm hating on Bute the fighter, but I'm not. It's his resume that stinks. Even you admit that Bute's resume has gotten weaker in his last 3 fights rather then stronger.

When I look at fighters, I try to look at their resume as well as their fight potential.

We already know how you feel about Chavez Jr... Why are you going to war for Bute's resume but $hi11ing on Chavez Jr all the time; that's rather biased if you ask me?

Jro, I agree with you, just so long as you stay consistent.

So, according to what you stated above. Pacquiao refusing Ortiz and stating that he was "too green"..... was a blatant duck, right?

Ortiz was ranked number 3 remember, higher than anyone Pac has fought at welter, he was the best available opponent for either Mayweather or Pacquiao, there is no question about that.

So why didnt Pac fight him ?

If you come up with an excuse to justify that rubbish, then you can apply that same excuse to Ward/Bute.

            Lets be consistent here.

That's my point. Neither did Bute, but you don't have a problem with that.

I never said he earned a shot at Ward, I have said a few times that I have no problem if Ward wants a gimme or two against a fringe contender in Oakland. Totally understandable. Been a long tournament. Ward isn't the only fighter at 168 for Bute, lots of good options for him there.

                    You're comparing apples and oranges.

True, but you obviously see that we're having a debate on Bute's schedule and whether or not he deserves a shot at Ward or not.

Talk about someone having an agenda, geez lol
