put beating?..lol.you *****s act like floyd is a offensive beast when none of his fights vs a cotto caliber fighter has been that......floyd UD'ing cotto is realistic...putting a beating on him is just nuthuggery talking there...

I'd pick Floyd by close decision, but in no way is it a mismatch. I don't feel like giving my long explanation why, but I think it'd be a damn good fight, and a tough one for Floyd.

I think it will be a closer fight than people imagine. Who's going to be the "runner" in this fight? I don't think Mayweather can walk him down like he did against Ortiz if Cotto chooses to box.
Nevermind Arum and what he says or has said. He uses Mayweather and the security of knowing that he doesn't plan on doing business with him to hype up his own fighters. Don't know when people will wake up to this. Cotto has never expressed any real interest in facing Mayweather at any point. I don't disrespect Cotto. I think that he has decent boxing skills, decent power, heart, and is mentally tough. I think that he does have what it takes to make it an interesting fight with Mayweather for maybe the 1st 6-8 rounds. He gets hit too much though, and by the 2nd half of the fight he'd be busted up and reluctant to throw.

only a volume puncher, power puncher , and one who puts pressure non stop could make cotto shy to throw.....floyd has not any of those qualitites...floyd is a safety first kinda of fighter and a minimal puncher ..if this fight happens, it would be cotto pressuring floyd , not the other way around

Cotto called out Mayweather in 2007, Although his demeanor is not to trash talk, Cotto called out Mayweather in 2007. Here are two articles:

              Cotto: "Mayweather, Stop Making Excuses"
"At his training camp in Puerto Rico, WBA welterweight champion Miguel Cotto (31-0, 25KOs) issued a challenge to Floyd Mayweather Jr (39-0, 25KOs), the WBC titleholder. Speaking with Primera Hora, Cotto told Mayweather to stop making excuses and to give the boxing fans the fight they want most."

Cotto Not Pleased With Mayweather's "Vacation"

Cotto's jab could "potentially" give Floyd problems, but it depends on whether he can find him, which i don't think he can. Cotto's left hook won't pose any problems unless he can jab Floyd consistently, otherwise that left hook will get smothered the same way ODLH's and SSM's was. The other thing people aren't considering is that Floyd is actually more durable than Cotto, and he has enough power to rock Cotto. He will check Cotto's chin, and after alot of hard fights, the consistent work Floyd put's in will wear Cotto down late.

                  My prediction:

If Cotto can establish a consistent jab he will do ok, but Floyd would probably win a UD. If he doesn't or can't establish the jab Floyd's going to get a late round TKO, probably rd 10.

I would want to see it. I think it would be closer than most people think. No way Mayweather stops Cotto, but I think Cotto can really do damage to Mayweather.

I would watch this fight, but think Mayweather would be too much for Cotto.
