  • I dont think Floyd would outbox Cotto easily. Cotto has never been outboxed in a fight. He has taken hard beatings, but not boxing classes from no one. I think Floyd should do something else and not just trying to outbox Cotto.

Neither had Marquez until he stepped in with Mayweather though.

Love the guy or hate him, his boxing skill is a different level from the rest of the sport. I'd love Miguel to make a hard night of it as that's my favourite fighter, but Floyd is just a bit special.

      • The same Cotto who got busted up by Clottey's sharp, accurate punches? Please.

exactly and went life and death with him too. cotto stands no chance in hell even competing with may. easy pay day for may and he wont break a sweat putting a can of whoop a$$$ on cotto prime or not prime cotto.

          • Hard for me to admit as a Cotto fan but Mayweather would've beaten Cotto back in the day and he sure as hell beats him in the here and now.

You are applying everyone else's boxing skills to arguably the greatest boxer in this era and one of the best boxers the sport has seen in 2 or 3 decades. Safe to say he's playing a whole 'nother ball game compared to the boxers Miguel has fought.

I knew back then that that fight was an utter mismatch and that Pacquiao would walk right threw Cotto. Many Cotto fans argued like he actually had a legitimate chance of beating Pacquiao, now we know he didn't.

Mayweather vs Cotto would be the same except Cotto makes it to the final bell but basically gets schooled in every round. This fight is a mismatch and only Floyd haters and Cotto fans think otherwise. Cotto will play the aggressor which will fall right into Mayweather's counter punching strengths. He's going to eat counter straight right hands over his jab ALL NIGHT LONG! Mayweather's taken clean shots from Mosley and De La Hoya at 154 so Cotto's punches will not be enough to do him in. Even Pacquiao said Cotto didn't hit hard at all after their fight.
I don't like Floyd and I think he ass reams Cotto. There's no way this fight is getting done anyway. There should be a public outcry if it does.

                • Mayweather retired to avoid facing Cotto and Margarito, he feared their aggression and size.

                  • lol!

the people who voted for a mayweather kayo literally dont even watch the fights
they just talk **** on the internet

floyd by a wide decision. aesthetically it would be a nice looking boxing match. both guys are beautiful boxers with very different styles.

i dont think it would be a barnburner, though, so it might put the casual fan to sleep

i too think floyd beats cotto on any night of his career

but floyd ducked cotto when he was in his prime. margarito too.
it's beyond dispute. he avoided fights with them to fight lesser guys for safer money.

he would have beaten both in my estimation, but he still ducked them
