Ortiz was able to land on Mayweather. In all honesty Ortiz has done '0' to deserve a shot but yet he got one. Cotto may have been in a few wars but he's coming off of 3 wins and could quite possibly give Floyd problems. I don't think Floyd would try to walk Cotto down like he did with Ortiz. Also I don't think Floyd would want to fight on the back leg either. This match up could be good with Cotto actually having a good trainer, which is something he has lacked for years. Would he win? I'd give Cotto about a 30% chance of pulling off the victory. Thats more then Bernard had vs. Trinidad and we all seen how that ended up.

I respect Cotto but you Cotto fans are delusional and suffering from some sort of euphoria that has carried over from the Margarito win.
Victor Ortiz is faster and as strong as Cotto and he was completely embarrassed by Mayweather. He didn't land much on Mayweather if anything at all, even when he had him on the ropes.
Mayweather vs Cotto is such a huge mismatch it's not worth my money for a PPV. I believe Mayweather knocks Cotto out because he will stand in front of him and land whenever he wants to.
This is NOT the same Cotto from5 years ago, some of you Cotto fans are thinking this after his win this past Saturday.
mismatch on paper atm....but fights are not fought on paper....in the ring is where we find the truth about the fighters.....I respect BOTH fighters alot and wouldn't mind seeing it

Cotto gets killed vs Mayweather AND Martinez.
I never claimed he was the same fighter from 2007. But I'd bet Cotto woulnd't get KO'd in the 6th round by a sucker punch. I'd bet that Cotto wouldn't be trying to head butt May because he was getting his ears boxed off. Also I'd have to say you might be mistaken about Ortiz being faster then Cotto.
Besides sucker punching his last opponent when was the last time Floyd KO'd someone? I seriously doubt Mayweather KO's Cotto only because you can't swell someone up when you only throw 1-2 punches.
Cotto has a great jab that can set off that shoulder roll trap floyd likes to do so that he can come over the top with the counter. Cotto keeps his hands high giving him a better chance of blocking the big right. Floyd's pre-vacation speed was amazing but Mayweather wasn't looking all that great vs. Ortiz, his timing wasn't spot on and he looked slower then his previous fights.
Good timing is all you need to beat speed.
This isn't as big a mismatch as most people think.
I still would have interest in seeing this fight, but in reality there are far better matchups out there for Mayweather. Cotto is getting entirely too much credit for beating an absolutely shot to pieces Margarito.
