I can respect Cotto for what he's done to come back from losses to at least one cheater, maybe two, but even at his best, this was not a style he could handle. Floyd would beat him up badly.

Cotto is better than Floyd's last two opponents, but this a fight that should have happened in 08.
Too much has happened since then, like Cotto taking two brutal beatings.
I think Cotto would definitely put up a good fight and won't be outclassed, but I can't see him doing enough to beat a guy like Floyd.
It's not an utter mismatch, and it would do good business but there are better fights out there for Floyd.Comment

i want to see it only if the pacquiao fight don't happen. it's either cotto or martinez. nobody else can give him any kind of a challenge. cotto is a very good boxer. he's been overwhelmed before but mayweather would not do that to him.Comment

Cotto has always been a decent fighter but there is nothing he does that's a cut above the rest. Hes is a straight up and down fighter, if he were to step in the same ring with Floyd, he'd make him look amateurish. Nothing against Cotto but this isn't a good fight for him, not now, not then, not ever. Having said that, I wouldn't mind seeing it happen anyway, since the midget continues to hide behind his promoter.Comment

Didn't Margarita have two eyes at the start of the fight? And how is Manny's resume any better then Cotto's? Clottey off a loss, Cheato off KO and suspention and Mosley who got his a/ss kicked by Floyd. Your point is not relevent.I don't like this fight right now, 2007 Cotto would have been a problem for Floyd though, that fight would have been intense.
Beating a one eyed shot Margarito and old as hell Mayorga just doesn't excite me. If he beats Kirkland, Canelo, or another good challenger then it might create a good buzz.Comment

Arum and Cotto has been trying to get this fight for a long time. Remember Arum touting Cotto as the real #1P4P when Floyd was on top by himself before Pacquiao fought De la Hoya. I think it will be a closer fight than people imagine. Who's going to be the "runner" in this fight? I don't think Mayweather can walk him down like he did against Ortiz if Cotto chooses to box.Comment
