Tell me when Pac made a guy in his weight-class where he campaign in fight at a catch-weight?Tell me when Pac made a guy in his weight-class where he campaign in fight at a catch-weight?
Cotto a WW must 145 in the 147 division Pac fights in ., that is the definition of a CW inside his own division , now show me another fighter in history that has done this ?

So it was a form of accommodation IMO. While we know Pacquiao could go lower if he wanted to.
BS.. oscar fought at that weight because pbf wants the rematch at 147. he wants to test 147 so he drop to 150 on the forbes fight and drop again to fight pac. and we know how it backfired..

His power is beyond limit and more powerful fighter by 1000X, his light speed unmatchable and his movement is incredibly improved. Pacquiao is a ****ing beast that terrorized the sport. He has the boxing world shook.
He is good, i'll give you that. Thing is that he gets matched and usually has an advantage against fighters. That cant be argued. Still A BEAST, Just wish that he wouldn't fight old fighters or fight so many catch weights.

Just read the whole thread. It seems that part of the argument stems from the definition of 'evolve'. If this means a complete change in the way Pac fights, then that is false. If this means fine tuning his natural abilities and adding some additional techniques, then that would be more accurate.
Think of a high performance car. That machine has the power, agility and speed to produce exceptional results. Imagine this machine in the hands of a less experience driver, one who knows little on how to exploit these capabilities. Now think of it in the hands of someone who has gained the knowledge and experience on how to maximize the innate qualities of this machine. Imagine and compare how different the results would be.

He has become a counter puncher. His duck and roll and counter ala Hatton is something he never used to be able to to.

He's gotten better, but it's mental. It's an experience thing.

Around the 2nd time he fought Marquez, we weren't seeing him thinking in there like he does now. I still think the Cotto performance was his best because he thought his way through that fight. Cotto's jab was giving him issues and he couldn't get his own jab going...then eventually he saw success with the lead left and started countering over Cotto's jab with his right hook....he was NOT doing that in 2008.

As he's gone up in weight he's realized he has to be a little more careful and it's made him a more cerebral fighter and I think that's where the biggest improvement has come from.
