Why worry about an accurate jab when you are smacking a fighter with your straight right at will?
How does having a good right hand make your jab less accurate?

If he only landing 14% against Ortiz, he will be lucky to land 10% against Pacquiao.

Once again, I guess you are Larry Merchant's son. You don't know **** about boxing. So why start a thread when any answer given want be the one you are looking for. You should be fired from this website. Once again you don't know **** about boxing, now go back to the Philippines.

I don't think he was looking to land it consistently. He was using it to set up his other punches, mainly the straight right. And he did that oh so well.

When I get a decent answer then I can accept it.

Vitali was landing his straight right at will against Adamek but his jab was still accurate.

That is a good point, he was using the jab to create range and to set up other punches.

there are many theories why his jab connect rate was so poor

my guess after watching the fight a few times now, he was fighting a southpaw and was simply using his jab as a range finder for his right hand

if you're being objective you can clearly see Floyd was going for the KO in this fight, hence the amount of power shots he threw

floyd was using his jab differently than he normally does which usually is to score points

It was only 4 rounds and Ortiz was moving and creating distance.

Guaranteed Floyd wouldn't have had to use it past 6 rounds.

Floyd didn't have a 6" height & 5" reach advantage like Vitali. He was also looking to set up the right hand & was throwing feints.
