True, Floyd is a great student of the game. He adapts fairly fast. He copes, and he usually gets "it" after a few rounds, but we're talking about if he was up against a conventional boxer. There's nothing conventional about Pacquiao, how do you adapt to a boxer who's only thing that's constant in him is his unpredictability?
I think Solis said it best when he said that Manny isn't special in his boxing, he's just a punching machine. He doesn't stop throwing, has incredible speed and can take a great shot.
Styles make fights, this is the reason that we see this fight, Pac vs floyd, as so interesting. We can sit here all day long and talk about why Pac would have the advantage or Floyd would have the edge but in reality we won't know until we see it in the ring.
I personally have Floyd beating Pac because he is so fundamentally good in his defense and counter punching. Pac won't just be able to overwhelm him the way he did Marg, Cotto or any of the other opponents.

Ortiz is more dangerous to Mayweather than what Manny is imo. Ortiz is big, strong, powerful, consistent, a lefty, but one who has a good jab, and sound fundamentals.A worry for Ortiz in a fight with Mayweather, is whether Ortiz is good enough at cutting the ring down when pressing, if Mayweather was able to draw him foward and was trying to use his movement to offset him.
Ortiz is a skilled, consistent, 5ft 9, power punching lefty. That would give Mayweather problems imo.
I give Manny little chance of beating Mayweather.
Manny's defense isn't good enough when on the the front foot, he doesn't have the ability to create his openings aside from feinting his way in, as he has no jab. Mayweather would paint Manny with lead right hands, counters uppercuts when he was shooting in with the big left, offset him with movement imo. Mayweather just has more ways to win against him, than what he has against Mayweather, not to mention the physical disparity between the two in terms of length.
I'd rather seen Mayweather vs Ortiz, only I think Floyd is smart enough to understand that Ortiz potentially posses a lot more problems stylistically.

Lol... Ortiz has barely a chance, he will get tagged all night. Why is everyone suddenly over hyping him now? He's not ready for Pac or Mayweather, he has only 1 fight at WW where he went to hell and back, it was a good win but see how he does with other top WW's first. Pac has a much higher chance, the unorthodox angles would be troubling for Mayweather. I like the new Ortiz but he's very vulnerable and Mayweather's speed and reflexes would confuse him all night long, he lacks considerable experience. I want to see Ortiz vs Cotto though, but very unlikely it'll happen.

Floyd can't potshot Pacquiao like his previous opponents. Pac will make him fight, whether he likes it or not...

You know this aint so much about how good Ortiz is, more so how small I think Manny's chances of beating Mayweather are. I dont know how Ortiz-Mayweather would go exactly, I'd have to put more thought into it, but I do think there is enough there, in terms of intangibles that Orti'z posses in terms physical dimensions, fundamentals, power, stance, to give Mayweather a competitive fight, more so than what Manny would give him imo.
I have a feeling I know how Mayweather-Manny will play out, and everything points to the fact that Mayweather has so many ways he can win, whilst Manny has less. I just think there would be enough intrigue in an Ortiz-Mayweather fight, in terms of what Ortiz brings to the table, than what there is watching Mayweather outpoint Manny.
