I mean seriously. You cant miss Berto at all. Ortiz will be in over his head against Mayweather. He wont land much of anything.Comment

He does need to use it more consistently, but he seem to do that against Campbell, Antonio Diaz in his comback fights, he just fought a little more aggressive against Peterson.
Cant say I remember him seeing him do that, maybe he did, but I mean looking at it, it look like Cotto is the one who utilized the jab more so than Manny.Last edited by Dynamite Kid; 04-19-2011, 09:20 AM.Comment

if this is some kind of a reverse psychology to revive pac fans into pushing for the pac/maynever fight, won't work. i for one would love to see mayflower fight spadafora, m hatton, malignaggi, etc. anyone but pac. upsets are exhilarating feeling. ortiz would give maynever the fight of his life. make it happen!Comment

For the love of God DK, give it up. You're not even sure of yourself. We all have our own share of brain farts...Comment

I am sure, just that I aint gonna refute stuff like that, I mean you can tell me how many punches Mosley through against Mayweather to make the assertion he wasn't tired, that Floyd just reduced him to that output with his skills, but it dont make it so.
The proof is in the pudding, Manny to my eyes, looked to be the one getting touched up by the jab in that fight, not the other way around.
I aint gonna censor my opinion cause some people cant handle it.Comment

LMAO at the bold, Ortiz has not thrown a jab like in 3 fights lolI'd give Ortiz a better shot at beating Mayweather than Manny, cause Manny has no chance imo.
Ortiz is more dangerous to Mayweather than what Manny is imo. Ortiz is big, strong, powerful, consistent, a lefty, but one who has a good jab, and sound fundamentals.
A worry for Ortiz in a fight with Mayweather, is whether Ortiz is good enough at cutting the ring down when pressing, if Mayweather was able to draw him foward and was trying to use his movement to offset him.
Ortiz is a skilled, consistent, 5ft 9, power punching lefty. That would give Mayweather problems imo.
I give Manny little chance of beating Mayweather.
Manny's defense isn't good enough when on the the front foot, he doesn't have the ability to create his openings aside from feinting his way in, as he has no jab. Mayweather would paint Manny with lead right hands, counters uppercuts when he was shooting in with the big left, offset him with movement imo. Mayweather just has more ways to win against him, than what he has against Mayweather, not to mention the physical disparity between the two in terms of length.
I'd rather seen Mayweather vs Ortiz, only I think Floyd is smart enough to understand that Ortiz potentially posses a lot more problems stylistically.Comment

not to mention admiring his work,So Ortiz has a better chance than Pacquiao because of his jab, consistency, and fundamentals. I can't believe we're talking about the same guy I've seen fight.
I have never seen him jab effectively one time.
He's incredibly inconsistent both between fights and during the same fight. That's been a big knock on him. What happened against Peterson in his last fight?
As far as fundamentals I've seen him squaring up and getting rocked frequently in each fight.
He was under rated before and is only 24 so he still has a bright future, but there's a reason he wasn't considered elite at 140.
he MAYBE can get in, but he doesn't get out like manny does AT ALL.
manny has a FAR better jab than ortiz.
I'm just at the jab with him, what about stamina?
No one can let floyd control the pace and I don't see Victor having any chance at dictating pace to floyd. He came out for the fight of his life vs berto but he's faded badly multiple time before. How much of that was him killing himself to make 140, we don't know because we only seen him fight 1x at 147.Comment
