What a load of crap-you mention names on Manny's record that nobody even cares about-like Diaz-lmfao, while forgetting to add several names on Hopkins list (such as Jones)....you may as well admit that you are biased.I'm surprised you forgot to mention Solis as a win for Manny! lol

If you're strictly looking at names, I think Hopkins has the edge. But when you factor in RJJ being shot, dragging Wright and Pavlik up to 170, Tarver fading and weight drained, Oscar having no business at MW (as proven by his fight with Sturm) etc, it swings in Pac's favor, IMO.

You can also factor in that Manny should have lost to Marquez, Morales being past it,catchweights for Tony and Cotto,and his recent opponents coming off of bad performances....etc etc...

When you take away asteriks from both Manny and Bernard and just look at names-Hopkins has the best names on his resume.

Pac moved onto beat Cotto to collect his 7th divsional champsionship. breaking the world record. history making achievement.

Pac beating Cotto would equate to Bernard moving up to Cruiserweight at the time and taking out Roy or James Toney. Either of those wins would be greater than against Trinidad who has a big name but was a smaller man.

1.Barrera
2.Hopkins
3.Pacquiao

hopkins. they both have excellent resumes but what sets hopkins apart for me is his ability to beat fighters with different styles. he could fight any type of oponent and adapt, while pacquiao keps fighting guys willing to stand in front of him and look to brawl.

then again bare in mind i had hopkins beating calzaghe, pascal and taylor twice. but pacquiao losing twice to JMM.

I believe with Hopkins,we get consistant challenges and situations where he is very much the underdog-the casinos odds reflect this.I would say Bernard is the last true great that is still fighting top competition today even though he is severely old in boxing terms.

Manny imo is more popular with a more dynamic style that a casual fan of limited boxing knowledge can appreciate- that is a seperate issue,but one that clouds a lot of people's judgements with a fan mentality.

The main difference I see is that a lot of Pac's fans have been in the position of defending and justifying Manny's choice of recent opposition,while Bernard doesn't need to justify himself because his opponents are legit-no questions if they are damaged/changed or disadvantaged before they even enter the ring.
