He's too big and yet he's "making history in eight divisions" fighting giants ..gimme a break. Thats just about as phony as Mayweather blasting everyone about his perfect rec. I said it b4 and I'll say it again, it's about the quality of the fights, not the quantity
Pac is scared to move up again and he's said it. It was a mistake to win that belt and the commission should reprimand him for misleading the public. Martinez is with range of Pac and he knows it..dudes just scared. Like he was against Yuri Foreman LOL

The Marg that Pac destroyed would destroyed the Marg that destroyed Martinez. Martinez is overrated that is being hyped aggressively by his promoter Lou Dibella. A great fighter never brags about himself, he is exalted by the people. Martinez needs to wake the 'f' up. If he wants to be No. 1 P4P. This is what he should do: Challenge the bigger guys, give up 17 lbs, then break his opponent's orbitable bone. Or maybe win about 4 more belts in different weight classes. Then I may consider him. Do you blame him? Pac and Floyd both won 154lb titles. I am sure Pac or Floyd won't fight Martinez. Sergio just has to keep fighting the tougher, ranked guys and he won't need them.

I think Sergio doubts himself against bigger fighters. That's why people are losing respect over him. Challenging Floyd and Pac is like Floyd and Pac challenging Donaire. Really, it's emabarassing.

Wow. this whole time i always thought it was who you fought that made you the best but now i know its how many weight classes you move up. Regardless of competition. As long as you move up you can fight garbage or has beens and still be considered the best.

the same people on here claiming that pacs 8th belt meant nothing suddenly change their tune. if they fought at 154 pac would weigh in at 150 whilst martinez would balloon up to 170 plus. please stop with the hate and just use common sense. how is that a fair fight.

I agree. If Pac struggles then Martinez is number one. If you ask me he beat Cintron and had the guts to fight Pwill when no one would. Combine that with a KO of a guy that most of you hyped up and he's in the picture. Pac shows up and dusts Shane off then he holds his #1 spot.

I'm sorry, i like Martinez but the most impressive win in his resume is still P.Will other that that i'm sorry, Cintron was never an A level fighter and Pavlik was never the same after Hopkins. You should all remember that Manny was fighting A-level fighters long before he stepped up to WW division. For Martinez to claim to be the P4P best fighter, he should be stepping up as well and try to challenge the big guys, making his fight close to impossible feat, Martinez should be challenging Bute, Dirrel, Froch or even Hopkins, Pascal, Dawson. If Martinez wants to challenge the two current P4P best in Manny and Floyd then Sergio should be fighting them at their turf the WW limit to make the fight an even bigger challenge for him to warrant a P4P rating for Sergio!!

Unlike manny n floyd sergio has actually fought the top challenges, based on skill, challenges, character, n entertainment sergio maravilla martinez p4p #1, if manny fights berto, bradley, moneymay 147 or he fights angulo, martinez, at 154 i give him more props but lately he fightin none but beat up drained fighters, manny is incredible but lets see him against a real challenge

again my friend...manny earned to fight for money now.....he earned his stripes the hard way....there is nothing that can change that morales, barrera and marquez is better than p.will, pavlik and DZ....cmon now son...manny earned his status years ago!! no doubt sergio is good..he is on a roll,,but he should be fighting north...
