As much as I love to watch Manny and Sergio, a look at their faces after each of their last wins makes it clear that they both get hit far too much to be considered #1 pound for pound. When it comes to Mayweather I am a hater, he bores me to tears inside and outside the ring; but he leaves a fight the same way he entered it. The Man hardly gets touched and he racks up wins. The Klitchko brothers should also be considered right up there. They dish it out and take very little in return. Hit and not get hit, that is the game. Leaving a fight with your faces bruised and swollen may well make you a warrior and a fan favorite, but not #1 pound for pound.

When Pac calls all the shots or bust it's hard to pass up a big money fight. Money is power, after all.

For the record Margarito came in at well over 160 lbs, whereas Cotto sustained the bare minimun of a catchweight 145.Tony has fought comfortable at welter for the better part of his career so It's no wonder he ate as many punches as Pac landed. 151 was his stomping grounds. Manny had no business fighting at that weight and still doesn't deserve to claim a belt he refuses to defend. The fight was BS and Tony shouldn't have been rewarded a payday w/Pac after his layoff. Much less a title fight.

Sergio is still Number 3 in my opinion. You can't go around making yourself the best P4P... the writers have to do it for you! LOL @ Sergio...

and while his bandwagoners go on and bash Pac on his fight with Mosley, Martinez himself gave it a thumbs up since the result of this fight would determine whom he would consider as P4P #1.

              CASE CLOSED.

heck, if Martinez posted on Boxingscene anonymously, with his statements, i'm 100% sure he'd be considered a *******.
I just sit back and Some of these dudes on here are flustered and looking for any way to rationalize a different P4P king. Anybody but the little filipino..

Some people are complainging that Martinez doesn't move up in weight. He had a belt at 154 moved up to fight Kelly Pavlik and Paul Williams at 160.

                  Stop calling smaller men Sergio

                  Andre Ward is calling you

                  Arum is offering Lucian Bute

Beat this bigger men to be p4p king.

Maybe because it's rapidly becoming one of the most hottest debates in the boxing right now? After all, this larger than life filipino that ignorant posters make out as being untouchable, he won't always be number 1. Maybe this is a sign of the times. For being a 35 yr old man, Serg is doing well for himself in the sport. At 5'10, he's shorter than margarito and given his wins in both JM, and MW Martinez shows he can alternate between two weights. He went up in search of glory, and he got it. Now that he wants to call out Pac people are saying he's too big? He's too big and yet he's "making history in eight divisions" fighting giants ..gimme a break. Thats just about as phony as Mayweather blasting everyone about his perfect rec. I said it b4 and I'll say it again, it's about the quality of the fights, not the quantity
Pac is scared to move up again and he's said it. It was a mistake to win that belt and the commission should reprimand him for misleading the public. Martinez is with range of Pac and he knows it..dudes just scared. Like he was against Yuri Foreman LOL
