He earned it by default when floyd retired the first time.

you forgot to mention though where was Floyd? you cannot beat the top guy when he's retired. had a lot of competition back in a Welterweight. it was the hottest division when he left.

How do you rate them against Cotto (145 after Margarito), reluctant Clottey (Who NEVER won a big fight) and Margarito (A guy who got caught cheating. KO'd and suspended in the same night, then fought a no name and didn't even look good doing it). Are you trying to tell me that those past Pac opponents are better than Williams, Pavlik and Dzinziruk?

              FOTY award? over ONE fight?

I DONT ****ING THINK SO.......Sergio should hang out with Manny and let the Humility Rub off on him....
he knocked out cintron and was a bad ref call. and the williams fight was a robberry, martinez is really 5-0 against the best. unlike pac whom fights nothing but bum after bum after bum no-hopers.and pac is NOT humble on 60minutes he was asked who the greatest fighter ever was not just pnd for pound but ever and ne named himself which is laughable, but goes to show the dude is NOt HUMBLE. in fact pac is a self obsessed pri ck because he refuses to take fights with hi risk to avoid his fame and celebrity taking a hit, and said and done, hes yet fighting another no hope washed up, winless in 2 years guy in mosley.pure garbage pnd fr pnd my a s s! pnd for pnd hype job.

I know he retired but you said it not me. I give Manny the edge because he is active fighting and Floyd is not BUT Mosley was still a better win for Floyd at WW, then Oscar, Cotto and Clottey. Yeah, Floyd did leave when it was heating up but he had a rematch already in play with Oscar when he bailed out over money. Anyway, Martinez is getting his just due and I'm happy for him and so should everyone else because he is putting on good, action packed fights.
