so basically we agree, sergio at 154 would murder floyd and manny. I do disagree with you about the manny fight. For me it's all about principle. He won that 8th title and he bragged(or his camp did) about a new record. Well than in that case he should defend that title. He won't and I understand why, but how does that translate into all the hostility towards sergio? Who is he expected to call out? Sergio should be praised. He is currently #3 and he called out 1 and 2. Who are those 2 fighting? Certainly no one of sergio's current capabilities

Hatton was the lineal champ, and Pavlik was coming off a very long lay-off and still hadn't really recovered from his humiliation against Hopkins, so he was about as weak a lineal champ as any lineal champ has ever been.



To be a good lineal champion you don't only have to beat the previous lineal champion, you also have to defend against the top contenders (unless you're moving to a higher weight class). And Martinez hasn't defended against a single genuine Middleweight yet.

Ok I'll give you the hatton point. He was the lineal champ at jr. welter. He lost at a higher weight and went back down and won 2 fights(1 decision win, 1 late stoppage) before manny. You know who else did that? Kelly Pavlik!!!!!!!! Except his lineal victory came over a healthy fighter. Hatton beat an old injured tzsyu. Taylor was on top of his game. Pavlik also lost a ud, hatton was ko'd. Pavlik also had 2 victories after his loss. Difference is pavlik stopped both his opponents...early. Your little time off comment was bs. Pavlik got a ko victory in december and fought martinez in april.......what a long layoff. 4 months. Prior to that pavlik fought in february.

So this is what makes him ineligible for number 1? because you should look at the last time manny(current #1) has defended any titles, let alone against "genuine" contenders

Since it was vacant and he fought an unranked jr. middle for that belt did you just admit that he is a cherry picker. Normally when you "claim" a belt, you defend it
