  • Sergio hasnt dominated anythang! This is funny. He beat paul williams and also lost to him. He beat a washed up pavlik that didnt fight. Then on Saturday he beat a smaller opponent that never fought anyone. And sergio the best. Haha.

Taking on all comers. Who gives a shyt how many straps Manny wins it's about the quality, not the quantity of opposition. When you throw someone like Martinez in with Dzinziruk it's easy to judge the loser as being inferior/bum whatever because the landscape changes and suddenly it's a B-guy against a world class boxer displaying his superior skill but under different circumstances you might be surprised that the once undefeated journeyman is actually decent in his other fights. So yea experts/analysts/observers can overlook the younger untested guys all they want but that gives them no right to single out a good challenge when it presents itself. Cotto was a 10-1 favorite to smoke Mayorga on Sat but the fight actually went down the stretch...upsets happen and Pac should be no exception to that. I say stop protecting him, Arum, pick someone who will push him to the edge. Wonder how fast Valero would have rocketed up the pound for pound ranks if he'd managed to secure a fight with pac and managed to KO him @ welter..

so basically your saying cotto and sergio has/had more quality opposition than PAC? I guess cotto and sergio should be fighters of the decade then?

      • Let's be real about this. Yes Manny is exciting but he is beating fighters with big names that were coming off of sound defeats so how was how #1 in the first place? People view Manny's wins over Oscar, Hatton, Cotto, etc like he fought them when they were hot when the truth is he caught them when they were vulnerable and any fool can see that. Yes PBF retired but he came back and soundly defeated the #2 and #3 P4P best and it just so happen that Manny was avoiding both fighters. That clearly enabled PBF to regain his spot while Manny continues to go after fighters that were already exposed. So the P4P should read:

        1-PBF
        2-Martinez
        3-Marquez
        4-Manny

            2.donaire
            3.martinez.

isnt margs taller than martinez> didnt margs ko martinez? of course that wouldnt happen now, but beating no-hopers and refusing flat out refusing to fight anybody thats a real threat from 135lbs to 154lbs isnt what number one pnd for pnd dudes are made of. idiotic logic is saying pac is number one for facing no-hope washed up bums, with no end in sight.if martinez would look vulnerable or wouldve lost pac would be all over him face it thats pacs m.o. thats what he always does he never faces or beats the best while they are at their best.thats why logically he cant be the best you earn that you dont just inherit it.pac is a hype promotion whom people like, martinez is the real deal.pac vs mayweather is wishful thinking and neither guy fights the best in any division therefore martinez has beyond topped pacs and mayeather recent wins and especially Quality and LEVEL OF COMPETETION.aside from that martinez last 5 were more exciting spectacular than pacs last 5 and scored brutal spectacular kos , when was the last time pac did that hatton???? thast a long time ago brah.

pacs 4 time lineal champ. first fight at featherweight against barrera p4p3. second fight marquez. most avoided featherweight of that era. fought marquez in a rematch., jumped 3 weights to fight oscar, where the fight was ridiculed him being a huge underdog. went back down to fight hatton jumped another 2 to fight marg. can you honestly tell their is no risk involved with those fights and were all forgone conclusions.

dude, if this is so easy then it would be repeated more often but it isnt. its easy to discredit a resume, but you have to put everything into context. pac jumped up 3 divisions to fight top 5 ranked welterweights.

martinez is just beggining his exploits but is no where close.

How many fighters do you know that can come out of so-called retirement and mainstream coverage and more dollars than any other fighter on the planet? So until he officially retires he's #1 now you shut the f**k up cause if Floyd was a nonfactor Manny damn sure wouldn't be going after his leftovers!
