A premise of your argument is that a fighter should come in closer to their opponents weight if they were to fight. That doesn't make sense when you are talking about such a signficant natural weight disadvantage. Why doesn't Pac fight Andre Ward at 168? It would diminish his skills. Look at what JMM did when he went up to fight Floyd. That wasn't the real JMM. Utilizing this premise shows that your argument is flawed. Fighters fight at their optimal weight

Martinez weighed 159 1/2 lbs against Kelly Pavlik at Middle weight. What is Sergio's fight night weight in his match against Paul Williams? Where did you get this 20LB weight difference from? Martinez is indeed bigger than Pac but don't blow it out of proportion. Margarito would probally still be heavier than Martinez if Pac fought Sergio.Comment

Weight does matter but it doesn't in this case where Manny just fought Margarito who is probably bigger than Martinez. The problem is you not admitting that you and others know Manny would lose based on skills rather than weight. Your probably among those that think the 2 pounds mattered when Floyd fought Marquez. Many fighters have made careers out of beating fighters that outweighed them in excess of 20 pounds or more. I've sparred with much bigger guys. You feel their weight but if your more skillful thats what it comes down to. You may not be able to hurt them as easy but you can hit them at will if your more skillful. Light-wts spar against middle-wts sometimes and are successful in some cases but they don't sit in there and punch with them and expect for us to believe their all natural like Manny does.Comment

We know this Grus and so does Team Pac. People hate to say whats at the core but it is racism because your right, cats have no problem saying Floyd should fight these guys but Manny gets special treatment. Its really sickening but it is what it is. People will say it's because of the dislike for Floyd but that's BS. If Floyd refused to submit to drug testing he would be crucified.Last edited by GRUSTLER; 03-06-2011, 01:02 PM.Comment

Second bold print: Name them. Name a fighter who beat someone who outweighted them by 20 plus pounds on fight night. Name someone who is currently doing it.
Third bold print: I also see at the end of your post that you are hinting that Manny is taking something illegal. These are baseless accusations.Comment

A Pac fan gave me a red k for the same paragraph when in actuality. Everything in the paragraph is on point. That's what makes me sick and tired of posting on here sometimes. ESPECIALLY when you have fans that are so emotional over fighters especially "Pac fans". Manny Pacquiao is not this super fighter that you guys make him out to be because if he was. For one he would be fighting champs and contenders at their natural weight AND two, homie would not have to beat up guys that have already been beat up prior to him facing them. Arum did his job and made a great hype in boxing but it is still one man he has to beat to completely dominate the sport and he ain't doing that because he is scared of needles and giving his own blood? What great champion has ever done that? NEVER in history has any top fighter assed out like that to a challenge. That's not hate but rather facts.Comment
