Oh really?...............
"Shane came to the gym twice to ask me to let him fight Manny,"Roach says. "I told him no both times, and both times for the same two reasons: First, there isn't enough money there, and second, you're too good a fighter.

I don't know what your definition of a "super fighter" is. If you tell me, I'd be able to respond to you.
Secondly, I believe that was quoted from Shane Mosley. I'm not so sure that Freddie actually said that. I would imagine that, if he did say something, Freddie said something along the lines of Shane being too big of a fighter for Manny. This was after Shane destroyed Margs in January of '09, and Shane wasted the entire year trying to get a big fight now that his name was back in the hat of top fighters in boxing. Shane is a big welterweight, as he's fought at junior middle more than a few times. At the time, Manny had only just beat De La Hoya. (Mind you, Manny weighed 142 for that fight) Freddie and Team Pacquiao didn't know where Manny would peak as he climbed the weight divisions. They only took the Oscar fight because Freddie was convinced that De La Hoya couldn't pull the trigger anymore, and Oscar was still the top money fighter in the world. Manny, coming in at 142, fighting a great fighter like Shane, who has fought as high as 154, didn't seem fair. Am I right?
It is quoted from Freddie Roach and that's why it says "Roach Says" and he says "Shane came to the gym twice" with quotation marks and all. That is a poor excuse because Pac fought Cotto, who beat Shane before. Pac wanted Cotto to go down to 145 and Mosley was willing to go down as well but Roach still turned the fight down. How can you say "This is probably what he meant"? When I posted exactly what he said? I saw the video when Roach said it. I tell you what made the difference between Cotto/Shane. Cotto is with Top Rank and struggled in his last fight (Clottey) while Shane is with Golden Boy and was dominate in his last fight (Margarito). What I mean by "Super Fighter" is that Pac is not as great as he is promoted. I think he is a very good fighter but just not cosigning him as the best. Totally up to me to feel that way.
First bold print: Show me the source. I don't care what you said, I want to see it for myself. Pac fought Cotto in November of '09. I believe Shane was asking for the Pac fight right after he demolished Margs, which was Feb and March of '09. This was before we would come to find out that Manny destroyed Hatton. Thus, it wasn't known at the time (Feb/Mar of '09) that Manny would carry the weight so well. Many thought that Ricky would be competitive with Manny at 140.
Second bold print: I cosign him as the best. I can feel that way also.

Martinez would not stand there and let Pac whoop on him. Pac hasn't faced anyone with counter punching ability in a long time and he wasn't dominate at all. Pac also gets hit way too much for him to get hit with a big punch and as we witnessed from Kermit Cintron and Paul Williams that Martinez does have one punch KO power. Cintron just got a gift. Martinez also got off his ass from a KD and put it on Kelly Pavlik. In my opinion, can't see Pac winning AT ALL. Fight won't happen so don't matter what we think or say.

Why would I make this stuff up?
