Listen, If Roach felt Manny could beat Martinez then the fight would have been on. Plain and simple. At 154, I would pick Martinez over Pac and a possible W over Floyd. Martinez would KO Pac in my opinion. Don't see Pac beating up on Martinez all day like he did against Cotto, Clottey and Margarito without tasting a lethal counter punch. Sergio put Williams head to bed (Which has never been done in his whole career to that point) Manny would get mopped. Manny hasn't even fought a boxer like Martinez in a long time. Manny is a very exciting fighter but he is carefully matched.

No way. How can you say all of that in your post but then cosign Pac in the same class as Duran and Ray Leonard? Not necessarily true, he has made catch weight stipulations in multiple fights and doesn't exactly seem too eager to step back into the ring with Marquez, truly the only guy to give him a challenge yet, and regardless of what spin anyone puts on it he could have simply said OK to the drug testing demands of Floyd and we likely would have had a true P4p champ at the moment. He has definitely challenged himself beyond what many of the great fighters of today's era seem to be comfortable with but he has also enhanced his legacy with a little good ol fashioned cherry picking and contractual clause advantages. Still he is a legendary fighter of the same cut as Duran and SRL.Comment

First link: It appears to be a thread; kind of like a forum, which we are talking on. I don't see the article that it is referencing.
Second link: Here is an excerpt from Rafael's blog: "One of the biggest issues in that fight is the weight. Mosley is a former 154-pound champion and the reigning 147-pound champion. Pacquiao, whose first title came at 112 pounds, won the 140-pound title from Hatton. In his only welterweight fight, Pacquiao sent Oscar De La Hoya into retirement in December in what was supposed to be a one-shot deal for Pacquiao in the 147-pound division."
It says nothing about your quote earlier on how Roach said that Shane is too great of a fighter to face Manny.
Third link: This link, just like the second link, was when Manny was lining up to face Cotto. Cotto had already beaten Mosley, and was presumed to be (by most fans) as a better fighter than Shane at that point. How does that prove that Manny refused to fight Shane?
Fourth link: Another quote from Rafael: "But nothing worked because Top Rank promoter Bob Arum, with no disrespect to Mosley, had designs on another fight for Pacquiao. Arum is moving forward with plans to match Pacquiao with his other big star, welterweight titlist Miguel Cotto. Arum says he is close to making the deal under which Pacquiao and Cotto will meet Nov. 14 in Las Vegas on HBO PPV."

154 is just a limit... super-welterweight is from 148-154... both fighter's camp can always negotiate within that limit...Mind you, 154 is 154!!!! Is there special stipulations for who a champion should fight now that it's Pac? Should we change the name boxing to Paxing? 154 is 154. I hope Shane ends this BS so we can go back to real fighters fighting at their best and get away from these weight games that Pac brought in that is F'n up boxing.
mind you, your a moron...Comment

SRL did the same thing towards the end of his career, you ever hear of Donny Lalonde? Catch weight Look at Pacs resume and tell me he does not belong in that class come on and he isnt even finished fighting yet.
Why didnt Roach put Pac in with Sergio? Cause its a huge fu c kin risk and not really up to him. Let me rephrase my assessment, Pac would likely be too fast and too pacquiao , you know all of those intangibles that make him who he is, for Sergio. I think Sergio might be quite the challenge for him but it would be a physical stretch for him to get back to that 154 limit and maintain the energy he would need for 12 against Pacquiao.Comment

I actually remember Roach saying that in an interview also, but I think like most Roach wasn't sure how far they could push Pac and Roach and Team Pac didnt see a weakness in Mosley as they had seen in Cotto, catch weight, coming off brutal beating, no real trainer. What? You just don't want to believe it. Roach said it. Ummmm..... Pac fought De La Hoya at 147 and then Cotto after at 145? Pac already tested himself at 147, so why did he need to fight Cotto at 145? Mosley beat Margarito in January of 2009 and Pac was looking for his next fight. Check video 4:16 (About Freddie thoughts on Cotto) and ESPECIALLY 6:57 onward (That should give you what you want to know).First link: It appears to be a thread; kind of like a forum, which we are talking on.
