Shouldn’t Mayweather be applauded for wanting testing for PEDs?

So based on your reasoning, if 14 days is VERY fair, then 24 days would be FAIR right? That would make it a REASONABLE request right?
If floyd jr. agreed to what you considered an UNREASONABLE stipulation of $10 million, why then would he reject a REASONABLE request of 24 days?
Besides, for a blood test to detect a user, he must take it within 48 days of injecting himself with hgh. With a 14 day window, it makes the test practically useless.
Hopefully one day in an "ideal world" we can have the "perfect system" of detecting any people who abuse PEDs,but until then,it doesn't change the fact that Floyd feels comfortable with the 14 day blood cut off date and Manny supposedly feels uncomfortable all together with blood tests.
24 days is too open of a window to exploit in the eyes of many people,as well as the man making the request.
As you can see, these negotiations and requests are probably stemming from certain concerns or su****ions, yet it doesn't change the fact that they will both have to meet somewhere in the middle.I just have a tough time believing that one fighter should be allowed a special request, and when the other fighter makes one of his own,it isn't met and then the blame is put on him.Fair is fair-if someone asks me for something,I am going to ask for a favour in return-especially with a binding legal contract. The question you need to ask is-who made a request that seemed excessive in the very first place (and would there be a reason for Floyd to retaliate with a request of his own if Manny didn't make one first).... if Manny's ego didn't start this B.S, we may be seeing Floyd/ Manny in 2 weeks instead of the generic Clottey fight.Last edited by damned1974; 03-01-2010, 10:24 AM.Comment

Pac is right for not taking the tests. Blood tests are too risky and should be banned from all sports. Here's why
1. The main risks with blood tests are discomfort or bruising at the site where the needle goes in. These complications usually are minor and go away shortly after the tests are done. They are minimized by applying adequate pressure at the site of the needle stick after the test is done. Serious reactions to having blood drawn are very uncommon.
2. The main side effects of blood tests are pain at the site where blood is drawn and bruising at the site.
3.Some patients experience vasovagal reactions when they have blood drawn. This is a situation where a person briefly loses consciousness after having a fear reaction to a procedure or event.
4. Needles can be contaminated by blood-borne diseases, most notably HIV/AIDS and hepatitis A, B, and C.

Perhaps Floyd is listening to his strange family-ask yourself if your family was telling you rumours about someone, would you not have a small amount of faith that they were telling the truth? Wouldn't you want to be sure that your opponent was not doing anything that may give them an unfair edge in an already brutal sport? Combine this with Manny's refusal for blood tests, excuses and phobias as to why he is resistant and there are more than enough reasons to make someone question how legitimate Manny is...
It's better to be safe than sorry....Last edited by damned1974; 03-01-2010, 10:35 AM.Comment

didnt he say countless times that it was a WW fight? Yes, so JMM had a choice whether to continue with the fight or back out well before fight night.
and yes he did, he gladly paid the 600k too.
has he come in over 147, yes or no?
did he walk out of nego. when they proposed the weight penalty eventhough hes never come in over 147 which was the contracted weight for the bout?Comment
