Shouldn’t Mayweather be applauded for wanting testing for PEDs?

First of all, who rejected, all of a sudden the location of DALLAS hmm????

$1.2 billion stadium. 1st time in history. 100,000 seats.

Then rejected all of a sudden at the last minute. Was it Arum who did that?

Also, please consider that:

1. Clottey, though a formidable fighter is practically a non-entity among the average fight fan, thus giving him zero negotiating power.
2. Clottey is under Top Rank which is ... whaddayaknow! ... is ALSO promoting Manny. In effect, they have the same boss.

In other words, Manny can practically dictate all the terms of this fight, just as Floyd jr. can dictate all the terms with his fight with Mosley, who is even higher in rankings than Clottey and has more name recognition.

I would have rejected it, too. If I were GBP and I see Arum sitting in the owner's box with Jerry Jones and George W. Bush (as they were at a Cowboys playoff game) I would have serious concerns as to whether my fighter would get a fair shake in Texas. Just ask Pernell Whitaker and Malignaggi about getting a decision in Texas.

That's a good point. But sometimes the right message comes from the wrong guy. I'm so glad this has sparked so much debate over it. And people are becoming more knowledgeable. So if this leads to something good, that's all I care about.

Those are valid points. Problem is, Floyd jr. NEVER AIRED THEM. He just rejected it all off a sudden, without any explanation whatsoever, on the day they were supposed to check out the stadium itself.

Come on. With the kind of money involved, wouldn't you simply air your concerns and worked your way to resolving those issues thus allowing you MORE money?

And since when did the audience bother Floyd? Heck, i'm sure he'd be more than happy to see Bush disappointed by winning his fight over Manny who Bush is a fan of.

He's right in that stricter testing is needed, he's wrong in that he is doing this for no reason but to make Pacquiao look like a steroid monster, or bullet proof meth user, or whatever the hell they are accusing him of now. He's not trying to clean up boxing, that's why he deserves little to no credit.

Yeah maybe, but i tend to agree with what bojangles1987 is saying. I think i would find it hard to give anybody credit for doing what Mayweather has done, going about it the way he has and for the reasons he has, although i do admit im a hater so maybe my biased is clouding my judgment.

The idea that he's doing it to make Pacquiao look like a steroid user is extremely shallow. Unless Mayweather has telekinetic powers, he would not have known what Pacquiao was going to do. He simply requested the tests. If Pacquiao had agreed, there would have been no countless excuses/contradictions; further trash talk, etc. In fact, this whole thing would be a non-issue.

I am sure that he would love to beat Pac in front of Bush, too. But I think they thought that they would not get a fair decision in Texas (Whitaker-Chavez all over again). If they had aired concerns over the judges in Texas, he would have been ridiculed for trying to dictate terms and acting as if they were bigger than the Texas commission. (Sound familiar?)
