the agreed upon weight was 144....however, it was STATED IN THE CONTRACT, floyd had to make the WW limit (147) if he couldn't make 144. for every pound he was over 144, he had to pay, because the AGREED weight was 144. the CONTRACT allowed him a way out, but he had to pay for breaking the agreement.

what is your point? i agree the agreement was 144, but the actual CONTRACT gave floyd other options.

You kids need to grow the **** up and stop pretending like Floyd isn't a scheming motha****er. He knew what he was doing.

On that same note, Marquez DID go on with the fight, took the L, so whatever. But the fact still remains, Floyd isn't the knight in shinning armor you're trying to portray him as.
      come on dude.

just b/c some ppl come on here and try to reason with some of you, in vain, i guess, doesn't mean we're apologists.....

THE CONTRACT gave floyd a way to fight comfortably, and pay a penalty, if making 144 was too much....

      that's all i'm stating. a FACT.

you don't like it, then ask marquez and his team and his lawyers the reason they agreed to the contract.

now you dudes understand why fights aren't done in a week. there's **** that's drawn up, and goes into CONTRACTS, that lawyers have to go over with fighters, and the fighters have to agree to.

      marquez agreed, bro.

you dudes need to get over it.

So what you're saying is, if a fighter agrees to it, then thats that. People need to get over it? yes or no?

Honestly...up until this day....that refusal still boggles me. The only answer I have is that Arum had promised JJ of a fight and convinced Pac to stay away from the Floyd fight and look somewhere else.

You know Oscar is a bigger man then Floyd right? Floyd is a natural 147 lbder fighting a natural 135lbder. Marquez was @ a disadvantage from the get go. Floyd is not even a big 147 fighter. He woulda made 144 without as much of the ill effects Marquez had going up to 144(142). it showed in the fight. Marquez was sluggish.
